You are missing 2 other actors on your list, Lewis Wilson (1943) & Robert Lowery (1949)

Christian Bale. But I am partial to Batman Returns and The Dark Knight over the other styles. Keaton would be a close second, though.

I have to go with Bale, the only older one I like is the one with Jack as the Joker. I hate how corny they are, and I know that they are apparently more true to Batman or what not but it just doesnt work for me.

Bale - best (Keaton did a great job too - but was not convincing that he could actually fight a group of thugs in real life as Bale's version does.)

Clooney gets "The Worst" Batman category - really, just horrid.

Bale for me, but then again the Batman Begins and Dark Knight are more along the lines of the Batman comics I used to enjoy in the 90's. I really like Adam West when I was a kid in the 70's because he did a great job playing a campy comedic Batman for the sitcom series of the 60's.

Keaton. Bale is a better Bruce Wayne though.

1. Kevin Conroy
2. Bale
3. Kilmer
4. Adam West
5. Clooney
6. Keaton (didn't like him at all. Looked like Beetlejuice with a cape, and too scrawny for Batman).

I had to double check I hadn't already posted in this thread, as I remember a similar one once

It does depend I guess, what criteria you're basing them on. Best film? Closest portrayal to the comic at the time?

For instance, Keaton's Batman kills people in self-defence (something that was true to the character's early origins, but not by 1989). Then there's Bale's Batman, who doesn't seem to be hinted at being a great detective (which Keaton's first film did suggest in a couple of scenes).

Call it nostalgia, but I'm going to say Keaton's Batman from the 1989 film. Batman Returns I just can't love as much. I think Keaton's Bruce Wayne is the most fascinating, tragic and nuanced. Bale a very close second. However, I can see the argument of people saying Adam West was the best and most accurate (for the time).
