That's right. Near 4700 rpm it kicks in and makes a difference. I like using the paddle shifters on the steering wheel as well but they don't really make a difference.

It's a 14 second car in the quarter I'm told. Magazines claim 14.2 whereas owners who have run it claim 14.8. I live about 3 miles from the new zmax dragway in Concord, NC so I hope to run it there if they ever have a test and tune night.

I don't know how accurate it is but my dynolicious software on my iPhone said I did a 0-60 run in 6.33 seconds which seems to coincide with a 14 second run.

I love Paddle Shifters!!! I hate the 4-Speed Auto in my TL, it shifts when I don't want it to...

I hate the guy who put the dam Exhaust and Cold Air Intake on my car... I wish it was stock, stock TL's are nice. Maybe some nicer wheels and tint would be all I do. Also, better sound system.

Never go cold air. Always short ram or even a simple drop in! As for exhaust, all you need to do is bypass the CAT and put a silencer on to not attract attention.

Kraftwerks and Comptech both make superchargers for your car. The Comptech one can actually be installed by Acura without any change to your warranty.

I have a 1997 Acura TL 3.2L. I was thinking if I go in the military under the don't ask, don't tell act (lol). I may get me a new Dodge Ram 2500 Quad Cab Diesel 4x4, for an everyday work vehicle. Then keep my Acura as a toy and fixing up, I really like the shape of it. But I have a hard time finding parts, but I am always fixing what the other guy messed up...

Why are you against cold air intakes? I had a 95 z28 and the cold air intake would make more power to the rear wheels than a simple drop in.

Just found out about this now, damn, it is a sad day indeed. Top Gear's most satisfying car for like, 2 or 3 years now and it just got axed. And I can't believe that the new NSX has also been put to the scrapheap, even if the new one was gonna have an engine at the front. Well, theres always the good ol' Mazda MX5. It just does what its supposed to do. Small, light and a tight handler, but damn. I; gonna miss the S2000.

Unhappy Is this a trend with Honda?

S2000 - gone
NSX - scrapped
Formula 1 participation - axed

I don't know if this is just cost-cutting or a disturbing trend.

A lot of the beneficial technologies (VTEC, suspension, steering, etc.) that was put in more mundane cars came from Honda's formula 1 and performance cars.

They had some other very fun and popular models that are gone:

Prelude
Integra
CRX

so sad.

Integra is still around as RSX.

EDIT: Actually, my bad. They discontinued those for TSX (Euro-spec Accord).

Nope, I think the TSX has been around and sold a few years before the RSX was dropped.

The RSX(RIP) was a great car and my cousin drives one that has all the JDM badging. Integra with JDM red H badges FTW!

I miss the CRX. Awesome car with a B16 that hauled.

There was an excellet episode of Pinks where a Toyota Cressida that was turbo charged killed TWO mustangs. Both stangs ended up over heating after runs. The Cressida won 2 runs against the first stang and then 1 against the second before the cars broke down.

I love forced induction but wish there was a way to also maintain power in the lower bands. Kind of why I'm more for superchargers since it's a steady distribution.

Of couse you can always put ITB's! Seen some very fast Civics with D15 3 stage V-Tec that had custom made ITB's off of a motorcycle.

I can't wait for that lube shop to send me a check to fix my old car!

Hey, you said they made a SuperCharger for my car, do you have a link. I could not find one for my 1997 Acura TL 3.2L, could be a nice extra boost. If I went into the Army, nice play toy, lol.

My bad, only available for 2003 and up. Would be nice on your car too seeing it gives a 60-65HP boost.

I think 2006 was the last year for the RSX. As the RSX somewhat replaced the Prelude, the new Civic SI replaced the RSX.
