I don't have a #1 favorite yet. My ten best list is about halfway done, since all the big critical darlings and award contenders still haven't gone wide and come to Regina.

The ones on my list so dar are THE DARK KNIGHT, SHINE A LIGHT, SPEED RACER, MAN ON WIRE and most recently THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON.

My favorite movie of the year had to be Tropic Thunder. I just loved the type of humor they were going for. I have not laughed that hard for a film in a while.

In second would be Iron Man. It was a fun film, especially the parts where RDJ was experimenting with the equipment. The humor was great too. I love sarcastic humor.

Third would be WALL-E. I am a fan of animation and not only found the film to be absolutely gorgeous, but highly enjoyed the flick as well.

Those are my top 3 and really the only movies that stood out to me as fantastic this year. Always a chance I could be forgetting something though...

Iron man

Dark Knight was good but all the excessive hype lead me to expect so much more then it was- which in turn left me disappointed. I didn't see it until it hit DVD and Blu. I think if not for all the "you gotta see this hype" I would have liked it so much more.

I watched Slumdog Millionaire and it was just incredible. I do not want to go any furhter into the reasons why I enjoyed this so much. I do not want to ruin it for anyone. Slumdog is an amazing film..there I said it again.

But IMO, The Dark Knight is still the best film of the year.

The next best films are Slumdog and Grand Torino. The Reader and In Bruges are damn good too.

I have not seen The Wrestler yet.

In Bruges was in a class of its own. Last new movie to come out that I liked that much was Paprika (2006).
