I'm not the world's biggest Bond fan (I know, I know, it's horrible) but I did bite on the Goldfinger SB. I loved the movie the time I saw it as a kid.

Now, if only they'd do Goldeneye...

Anyone know if Best Buy will be doing the steelbooks again, or will these be Amazon exclusive? I'd rather buy them in store so that I can inspect for scratches and dents (if I'm gonna buy a steelbook, might as well make sure it's in good condition right?) instead of risking it getting banged up during shipping.

Also, where's Goldeneye the first Brosnan movie? I thought there were going to be six releases + Quantum of Solace? Or is it just these three and QoS?

And just a regular edition for QoS? No steelbook?

I hope these drop to $20 each on Amazon. Definitely preordering at that price.

Default Bond Blu Ray

Is there really any need to upgrade to blu ray from the ultimate standard editions..I have to say the pic quality on the std ultimate editions is remarkable upscaled..I find it very funny to read people selling the ultimate std editions to buy the blu..it's absurd..

have you seen the Bond blu rays???? seriously??? they're not even close in comparison. It all depends on what you think is worth the upgrade. After seeing the Blu's I can't even watch the ultimate editions any more, besides why come onto a site deditcated to blu-ray and start asking why we decided to get rid of the old dying format with the new shiny one that has twice the horsepower (metaphorically speaking)

To be fair, I'd say more like 5-10 times the horsepower.

I'd say about 6 times the horsepower, but really I bought the whole box set collection of the Bonds and I love them but you can't blow off bluray for it. You just can't.

I own Dr No, from Russia with love, Thunderball and Live and let die and I am extremely judgemental on PQ and AQ and the Blu Ray's surpasss the 'upscaled' DVD by leaps and bounds.

Besides, I got the 6 class Bond BD's over Christmas with one of those Sony "Buy More, Save More" deals. Each BD came out to cost me $7.80 each! HARDLY $25. Well worth every penny.

I completely agree with you. I sold my UE's on Ebay and have since upgraded to the blu's. They are fantastic on a large screen. Leaps and bounds better. Looking forward to Diamonds are Forever. When will that be released? I am skipping on Brosnan and Dalton. They are my least favorite Bonds.

Diamonds Are Forever was rumored to be out this March with another two, but that flopped so i assume sometime during the fall

The fact that all (so far) of the mistakes with the UE DVDs have been corrected on the BD editions makes these a worthy upgrade. Not to mention the incredibly improved picture and sound.

I've been a Bond fan my whole life. I must have bought each of the classic movies at least 6 times over on VHS, laserdisc and DVD. And yes, these BDs are absolutely worth every penny!
