Sounds like the skill involved in being in an actual firefight...duck and weave, stick and jab, etc.,...not hiding in a dark corner shooting someone in the head.

It's amazing how many people thinks it inferior to shoot a gun more than twice in ten seconds in a first person shooter.

have you even tried sniping in this game?

either you're the best sniper in the world, or you've never tried it.

as soon as you put out a couple rounds, you're a sitting duck. staring down a scope means you aren't watching your back.

and if anyone sees you, or if you run into anyone, your pistol will most likely lose to any other gun.

on top of all of that, it really isn't easy to snipe people. especially if they're running, or shooting back.

All right. I tried sniping in Battlefield: BC tonight. It was fun enough, and I went 6-2, (and I played my role since we were playing Gold Rush, and I picked a few off trying to blow the crate), but I couldn't shake the feeling I was being less than I could be. Oh, well, I might do it from time to time for unlockables and whatnot, but I still wish someone would make a good FPS without snipers.

lol that game is one I could see people being mad about snipers since its huge maps.... first time I tried the game I used that sniper rifle that took 2 shots to kill someone ... I was getting so many kills I had 2 nade myself twice so I could respawn w/ ammo.

cod4 is as close to perfect as a game could get and if they made some minor adjustments, or none then cod6 would probly be great aswell!

Yea, I almost got W@W tonight, but opted for Resistance 2 instead. Dear lord I'm looking forward to Killzone 21 and Modern Warfare 2.

i'm with supersix, cod4 to me, is about as good as it gets. any improvements would solidify modern warfare 2 as the best fps ever (to me) unless infinity ward can continue to out do themselves. Any graphical improvements will be awesome cause i think cod is already one of the best looking games of this gen, gameplay can remain the same, story as good as modern warfare, good new online maps, couple new weapons and a bad ass like Price. I'm sure i.w. wouldn't touch zombie mode as that's Treyarch's baby but hopefully they can come up with something just as fun to keep us happy.

W@W is an awesome game and very much worth a buy. i think it's the best shooter of the season and pretty close to the experience modern warfare brought. resistance 2 and gears 2 were both awesome games but the online on both didn't hold me in like cod so they didn't last much longer than the campaign for me. Like everyone else, i'm ready to see what killzone 2 brings to the table and it's looking like it's gonna be all we hoped for but i think come winter, if they get modern warfare 2 out in time, kz2 is gonna take a backseat

dude, i dont mean this to call you out, but i dont see how anyone can justify buying that game! people sitting under the map just killing people at will is a total game killer! its not just a bug. it is a game KILLER.. ruins the entire experience. plus, the game feels like a rushed extension of cod4 that traveled back in time. it just doesnt hold my attention like 4 did. i can still put 4 in and have an excellent time, and i think most people would agree. will you be able to say that about W@W in a year from now?

i know bugs and glitches seem to be more of an issue with w@w but i think of the time i've spent online since release, i've only dealt with maybe five games at most where i've run into people glitching. I guess you'll run into chumps that have to cheat in pretty much every game. To each his own tho, i know the wwII thing kills it for a lot of people but it didn't bother me one bit. Gameplay is good, graphics and sound are good and i never got bored with the campaign. i fully agree tho, i still prefer modern warfare over w@w but as far as holiday releases, i felt w@w was one of the better releases of the season. as far as a year from now, i don't think either are gonna be gettin much attention with mw2 comin out! by the way, the thrice in your name, the band? if so, favorite band ever

yeah I heard about that ... I just couldnt get over going 32-4 in a tank on that railroad map on the demo... so I just passed on it + killzone will be here very soon and then mw2 I can wait

the glitching is annoying and all, but it's not a game killer.

you're restricted to a certain area. so if someone kills you once from under the map, just avoid the area and they can't kill you. I've been experiencing it less and less now.

at first i didn't like cod5 as much as cod4. but after prestiging once now on cod5, it really is the superior game. you just have to give it a chance. most of my friends didn't want to say they liked cod5 better. but now after playing it non stop, they haven't play cod4 since.

cod5 just has more to offer.

I've got to side with plowmanjoe on this. I own both COD4 & W@W...

Call me a n00b all you want, but I've found the online play of COD4 much more frustrating. There may be fewer glitches, but the game has been out longer, so people have figured out where the spawn spots are and just pick me off.

As for W@W, I've never seen someone under the map and I've got 9 hours of online play in. Cheaters are around in every game, and I honestly think it's a self-esteem thing. These people make themselves feel better by beating others through cheats. It's just an inevitability.

I agree completely. I played W@W at a buddys house the other day and said, this is just not as good as Modern Warfare!

Cod4 is the most over rated game of 2007 for me. Sure it was fun, but it was way too run-and-gun for a game of that style.

I want more weapon combo options, I'd like to have an M4 (or other weapon) with the 203, AND the red dot sight. Plus more 40mm rounds...two aint cutting it.

I have played a lot of COD W@W and just went back and tried COD4 again the last few days . . . I know W@W has sharper graphics, but COD4 just feels faster/more responsive in online play. But I love both games . . . I just hate Dome.
