I'm still on the fence with the Wii. On the one hand, I have a decent Gamecube library and there are some titles I'd like to revisit, but I looked at IGN's top 25 Wii titles and roughly 80% of them don't hold much interest for me. The only Wii game I'm dying to play is Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars, but I don't know if it's worth the cost of the Wii, component cables and a Classic Controller Pro (the Arcade FightStick is out of my budget).
For those that are using component cables, which manufacturer did you go with? The four bestsellers on Amazon have a varied price range; is that difference reflected in their quality? ![]() |

The second setup is what I've got currently, where the cable run needed is much shorter since it's going through my receiver (which is in the same cabinet as the Wii) before being passed to the TV. I bought that one from -- guess where -- Monoprice for about three dollars if I remember correctly. I haven't noticed a difference in my setups, but I'm also not exactly comparing apples to apples because my receiver does process and and upscale (or upconvert; I forgot which term we are supposed to use there) all analog signals before sending it over HDMI. That said, I would recommend just trying the cheapest one you can find (likely on Monoprice) and seeing how that fares for you. |

Now before I say anything, I'm not a fanboy. I've been playing nintendo since I was 4 years old. Nes, SNES, and N64 were Nintendo's best consoles ever! But I have to say I was dissapointed with the gamecube, and the wii. The number one reason is the lack of games. I don't care about the graphics either. I care about the gameplay, and the wiimotes just ruin the gameplay for some of the games. I will admit that there were some fun games that I played for the wii. To name a few that I enjoyed for the wii were: Animal Crossing, The Godfather, Super Paper Mario (paper mario was alot better), and call of duty: world at war. These were the only games that were fun to me. I wish I would have kept my wii, and I even might buy one again some day, but Nintendo needs more and better games. I'm really not a big fan of the controller either. The wire going from the nunchuck to the wiimote was kind of annoying. I hate that you need a classic controller for the vc games etc. The wii has too much controller add ons. I spent like 100+ dollars for all the controller and accessories etc. One controller would be nice. But I don't mind it for some games. But besides all of this I still like Nintendo. Nintendo and Sony are my favorite gaming companies.

Considering this is a home theater forum, there are some gurus who would probably have your head for not knowing the difference between composite and component! I don't really care, though. ![]() |

I didn't notice any difference. See earlier post about my experience with this. |
