Original artwork was much better. Not that it in any way changes my plans to buy this movie.

Why do they always think they have to make a cover more blue just because it's called Blu-Ray? It's a black and white movie, for Christ's sake.

I clicked on it, but didn't see the "Revised Artwork" vs. "Original Artwork" at the top of each picture. The original artwork is the same as the "new" artwork for the fancy shmance re-release DVD they did a few years ago.
Meh. There could be a picture of a dog turd on the cover and i wouldn't even blink. The could charge $40 and i wouldn't care. Oh wait, they are charging $40.

I think people put way too much emphasis on covers. The only covers I care about are LP covers, because they are so huge. And sometimes I stare at them while I listen. I don't stare at blu-ray covers when I'm watching the film. The only time I ever look at the cover is when I slide it out of the shelf and prepare to stick it in the player.

All I care about is top notch picture/audio.

The blue-toned background is pretty lame. I'm still buying this on day one though.

This is the art they originally had up at The Digital Bits. I never thought the poster was finalized.

Prefer the original artwork, but it will not stop me from picking this one up or any other movie I like.

Nawww!!! The 3rd and 4th times are the best and you know it; it takes a while for all the subtleties and not so subtleties to hit you.

Well, I just saw yesterday (in France) Da Vinci Code on Blu ray in a digibook, maybe it's a new thing they're trying, and it's also the first of its kind here.

It looks like Sony went back to the artwork they've been using since laserdisc, but colored it blue. Actually, although I can appreciate the original comic artwork, I feel that the newer art is more evocative of the feel of the film. This is not a terrible change, IMO.

Is this ever going to drop in price?? I know, it is a classic film and a great transfer, but I just can't pull the trigger for almost $23.00.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Back when it dropped to 20.49 recently, I negotiated it into my Amazon Gold Box for a total of 19.47ish. Maybe around Thanksgiving/Christmas it will drop.

The booklet is really insightful, though; great release.

I should just get it. But I have been so good lately about not buying until I find a good deal and I have gotten into a good groove of nothing above $15.00.

Agreed. Kubrick films always get better and better on each subsequent viewing. Especially Dr StrangeLove.

I wish they would release Barry Lyndon and Lolita.
