Shame about the quality of the feature over all!
Fair duce, I'll still check it out for myself, not overly confident about it though.

I would say "don't go in with high hopes" But I didn't have hopes of any kind and was still left reeling from the tedium!

I'll be seeing this in Imax tomorrow. I've got low hopes, but 1 and 2 were huge movies from my childhood. So I have to see it.

I'll let you all know what I thought.

I went in with low expectations thanks to my co-worker. I have to wonder what movie she seen? I loved it from start to finish.

Shrek Forever After was much better than Shrek the Third. If you enjoyed the first two Shrek films I think you will enjoy this one as well.

Wasn't really good, but wasn't really bad. Better than Shrek the Third but not in the same league as the first two films.

2.5/5, for me.

I enjoyed it a lot. The two people I saw it with thought it was the best of the 4, and they had just watched 1-3 back-to-back-to-back right before seeing part 4. My least favorite of the series was part 2. But I don't recall 3 enough to know which I'd rank 2nd.

I just saw this, overall reaction...

Meh

I'm not one of those teens who's childhood had Shrek in it, I didn't really get round to watching it till I was 10, so Shrek doesn't have a hold of me, but I do really like Shrek and Shrek 2. what I dislike is Shrek the Third, I couldn't get all the way though it!

So where does this film slip in, well the problem with 3 is it's boring, it's unfunny and stale. Shrek 4 is stale to, but Shrek 4 has it's funny moments and I was never really bored with it for the most part. The premise is pretty smart, and it's well presented, right up until it turns into It's a Wonderful Life, the whole parallel universe is pretty lame.

I did say it has it's funny moments sprinkled around, it's not really consistently funny, but every time it lands a gag, it's quite delightful to see it work and just Shrek to be funny again.

The huge problem with Shrek Forever After though is the fact that the whole anti-Disney thing has ran stale after so many years, and it's a problem that not only stops the latter Sequels for working, but also takes away from the original. It's a great shame that such a great idea has grown to little more than tedious.

It also gets overly sweet in places, I felt I could puke, it's so full of "Ahh isn't this nice" and "Oh isn't this like the first one only slightly different"

But for what I feel the film was made for, it was made for book ending Shrek and for that it works, if this was this was the Third film, people would of been disappointed sure, but they couldn't say it's god-awful, it's just really pointless like the 3rd film. I also have to say that it has a different message than the other 3, which is great, cause we already got the message the first time.

Shrek Forever After was made for two reasons, 1) Money and 2) to finally end the franchise that put Dreamworks animation on the Map, to let Shrek go out with an at least half decent movie instead of a god-awful on, to stop him from squeezing milk out of a cash cow that likes to moo. And for that, I respect Dreamworks, for putting some effort into the beyond repair movie, that somehow, just barely works.

5/10

I hated Shrek Forever After. Worst Shrek movie out of the 4. It was boring and only had a few jokes in it( and even those were not laugh out loud funny).

Shrek(best one)
Shrek 2( good)
Shrek the Third(Horrible)
Shrek Forever After(Horrible x10)

The only way I will buy this movie is when they release All 4 Shrek movies in a box. I will not buy this movie seprate.

There are four Shrek movies already? I haven't even seen the first yet. I'll have to buy them all some day soon.

I think it's about a 3.5/5 I liked the alternate reality for sure, it was different which is a good thing, very sad that this franchise is ending. Think it's odd that
[Show spoiler]Fiona was human during the day in this one but you only ever see her in ogre form. Also, where was the frog king?
