I watch all of them pretty equally, i would say fox IS the greatest offender on this norm, yet all of these channels grab me with the "howard stern factor" aka i hate their reporting yet can't turn the channel lol.

+2 My wife and me watch the early morning news rotation between fox and msnbc. From time to time we will watch fox in the evenings...The worst thing is I have friends that take this (news from either side) as gospel, and actually believe that fox is telling it straight...Straight for an opera or WWF

What a tool. Commit a federal crime and write about it. Given the failure to prosecute, I'm a little skeptical of Newscorp's involvement...

People do not get prosecuted for downloading movies or music. They get prosecuted for making the media available to others for download. I'm not saying what he did was right or legal, I'm just saying they'd never prosecute this.

They "would never"... It's illegal to make illegal copies of media (be it digital copies of video, music, paper copies of sheet music, whatever) without prior approval from the publisher/publishing company. If you download something like this, you're making a copy of it. It's illegal. If they don't start prosecuting people for this, there will always be a demand for it. You've got to attack problems from multiple sides, otherwise you'll never beat it.

actually a few people were arrested at one of our local colleges for using their internet to download music, this school monitors dorm usage for porn among other things, and they found and reported a large group of kids for downloading music and movies, they were not posting them for download, but they did download illegally media, and were prosecuted, i can not believe this is a unique case.

They were probably using torrents and allowing what they downloaded to "seed" from their college PC's which allowed others to download from them.

Yeah. While downloading might be just as illegal, they can't really track down what people are downloading. The people they "catch" are caught because they were also uploading/seeding what they were downloading, so their IP address was out there for the world to see.

All the bandwidth being used up for downloading stuff might still alert some people, but they have no way of telling what you're actually downloading, and there are plenty of legal things that can eat up bandwidth (legal torrents, streaming movies on Netflix, etc).

that could be, i know nothing about torrents other then some friends use them and they seem to be as reliable as limewire, like you download something and it is NOT what it says it is, i remember my buddies roommate bragging and telling me he was downloading blu-rays, needless to say they WERE NOT lol, i wouldn't even classify them as good as DVD.
