Or the Nordic blu-ray import that I've had for about a year. The title has been announced.

Speaking of video games, I was playing Gears of War 2 (yeah, xbox360 boo hiss!) for the first time with my new setup, and I found myself spinning my character around again and again because of the ambient sounds. Little buggers crawling around in the ductwork was so much more real now.

It's supposed to be coming to blu. I saw a thread about it awhile back - a picture of it was in a slip cover or something. I'd love to watch that shootout scene!!

Also watched The day the Earth Stood Still last night and it's got some crazy bass scenes. The surround sound is also really good on this movie!! Demo material for sure... I wasn't too into the story but I might buy it when price drops just to show off the AQ.

The SD I have of CARS is awesome--the AQ & PQ are stunning--so I can't wait to see/Hear the BLURAY of it. HULK & Transformers kick A___ as well. I'll be watching RAMBO hopefully this wk-end since my complete Audio Upgrade is now complete.

Damn You "UPGRADEITIS!!"

I'm really into war movies so one of my favorites is When We Were Soldiers(Mel Gibson). As soon as they land in enemy territory there is none stop gunfire and explosions. The best part is when he says "broken arrow".Then you see and hear jets and bomb attacks along with gunfire from every speaker in your system.I definitely recommend you make sure all your dishes and fine china is in a safe place(from past experiences).

OMG--Awesome freakin' Movie! -- Saw that when it came out in this Huge Theater with many speakers on the walls. Seriously, it was like I was In that same field or valley, the way the Audio "Surrounded you" and put you In the Center of all that gunfire and craziness. I don't have the BLU "Yet", but have watched this on my SD version & it is amazing. The BLU will probably be incredible I bet.

I'd have to say, I love gunfire, but my favorite surround effects are atmospheric - rain, wind, storms.

I agree. It's another reason why Twister is one of my favorite movies.

I concur. We just watched Twister last night. Couldn't help it. There were tornadoes rolling through the area. Quite frankly, the movie was better!

Last May our house got pelted by large hail from a twister that damaged our roof. That storm was more intense than any movie. Hail being driven at 100mph at our windows sent us running for the basement. But sound fields like the movie definitely capture the feeling.

I've never been in a gunfight, so I can't compare the movies to the real thing although I feel like I've been in one, having Shoot 'em Up and 3:10 to Yuma.

I watch The Matrix on blu tonight for the first time, and when they are saving morphius in the helicopter and the mini gun is blazing, you can hear the bullets hitting behind you and the water in the room splashing as each bullet hits the ground and then the return fire of the hand gun from Mr Smith going from the rear to the front.... wow that blu me away.

Planet Earth is cool when they shut up and you can hear the sounds of different things all around you like dolphin and whale calls or the birds singing in the jungle or when the bats fly out of the cave.... or even when the male penguins are on huddling together and the winds are blowing....

I love the big fight in the Subway at the beginning of Underworld. I use it as my 'reference' movie whenever checking out new equipment.

Wife and I watched this two nights ago...... but our son was asleep (pretty much how I have to watch all of my movies unless I try to get a flick in while the wife is out shopping with him etc)

I didn't get to fully appreciate the audio, but it's nice nonetheless.

I haven't popped that back in since upgrading my speakers from satellites. I definitely need to do that one again.

Watched "Master and Commander" again this last week. Definitely some of the best surround sound- a couple times I literally jumped because our house creaks similarly to the ship and I thought someone was standing behind me!

I still have the Pitch Black/CORiddick 2 pack still in it's wrapper. I can only imagine the surrounds on Pitch Black have to be hair raising with all those swoops and fly bys. Hell, I might check that out tonight.

Not some of the best. The best. That's reference audio right there - especially the Cape Horn scenes. Moreso than the battle scenes for the wind and water!
