Hey, has anyone here with region A only players purchased the french Blu-ray of this film? I have an Oppo bdp-83 and according to DVD beaver it plays fine on his Oppo but I just kinda want to double check before I throw any money down on it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Also...
Pardon my ignorance but the french amazon lists the price as "eur 10,14".
Approximately how many dollars is "euro ten comma fourteen"?
Ha ha I have no idea what that means.

It definitely doesn't play on my PS3, but it does play on my Momitsu, after I set it to 1080i output.

You may want to wait for the eventual Criterion release, hopefully this fall.

According to XE.com, 10,14 euros is $13.08, as of today. You may pay just as much for shipping from Amazon.fr.

Hey thanks for the quick reply Morphus. I'm really tempted to import it but maybe I will wait for the criterion release. Just wish they'd give some kind of time frame for a release.

Waiwaiwait so the disc is actually uncut? And it's just sped up a little because of the 1080i?

What I find funny is that the day I post something here you all happen to come here too and see it, like what are the odds?!. Do you come here every day just in case or do you get notified or something?? Who knows!

Don't worry I don't blame you for coming here every day I love Antichrist big time too (;

ANYWAY since we're all here on an ANTICHRIST thread... should I go for the AE UK disc... or the Aussie disc? Hmm

(I want to support Artificial Eye and have this in my AE collection but it has such a low bitrate (and 1080i!!) and the Aussie cover is so beautiful and jfdshgk)

Decisions decisions...

(I don't even know if anyone's going to answer this lol oh well I'm bored)

Because when you post, it bumps the thread back to the top of the threads list on the front home page.

I don't know which is better between the UK or Aussie editions. I have the Criterion US edition, and it is superb.

I don't know about picture quality, but wasn't this film shot at 25fps making the UK 1080i25 more accurate than the Criterion 1080p24? The Australian may be 1080i25 too, since it is the TV format there.

Correctamundo.

Meowingdogs, go for the UK disk. It has a swag of extras that are good and the Australian release has zilch.

I have the UK release and noticed some banding last time I watched it. It's on a 25gb disc with a bitrate around 15 Mbps. I've been thinking about picking up the French release, which is on a 50gb disc with about 24 Mbps.

The Criterion is in the wrong frame rate though isn’t it, as this was shot 25fps?
