Default No replacement Revolver TT for me!

Wanted to update you guys and let you know that I backed out of the Revolver Rebel Black I was negociating.

The seller originally offered this with a brand-new Audio-Technica cartridge, but in the pics he sent me it showed a Shure Hi-Track Green bodied cartridge, which I beleive to be extremely old. But that is not even the point.

The seller changed the parameters of the deal in mid-stream. I cannot be comfortable with such a move and have advised him that the deal is off.

The wait continues..........

Hi John,

That really sucks.

I know that you are not a big fan of purchasing something off of Audiogon for a Turntable, but we have to get you something at least as a short term fix. This is getting ridiculous.

Look at some of the ads that I have linked to for Audiogon below with varying levels of machines and pricing to consider:

Hi Rich,

Yeah, it does really suck and I'm very disappointed, as you can well imagine. I didn't even want/need the cartridge (either of them), but I'm upset that the deal was changed in mid-stream. That, as far as I'm concerned, doesn't say much about the seller's credibility, which is why I backed out. Revolver TT's do show up now and again, and I'm sure that one day I'll be able to get one for a decent price. I really only wanted it to serve as a parts table, because it would be nice to get mine up and running again.

Anyway, for the moment I'm going to take a back-seat and think about other options. I don't want to do anything at this moment because I'm a little distraught about today's turn of events. I was so looking forward to spinning a few of my new vinyl purchases and some old reliables.

Thank you so much Rich for having taken your time to look for alternatives for me. It is most appreciated and you should know that! It may very well come to pass that the route you proposed is one I might persue.

You know the old saying: "All things come to those who wait!"....and with every day that passes I am closer to that eventuality.

Sincerely,

John

Yeah, that's a sleazy move. You were right to terminate the deal. Still, It's got to be a big disappointment to get so close.

I am pretty sure they'll blow the back to black Universal pressings clear out of the water and I imagine all the Simply Vinyl, import and domestic Geffen, Japan, MOFI, etc., pressings too.

This should be the one to get.

Only 4,000 copies.

Hi Fred,

It is indeed a major disappointment, something that has befallen me for most of this year. To say I'm bummed out about this would be a major understatement. It's not like I asked for a lot.

Did you know that the best type of support and decoupling for your turntable can be found in Auto Parts and Tile stores?

Just pick up a few shock absorbers, springs, and marble tiles.

I think I may pass on the Nirvana reissues although I may live to regret it. They're very tempting.

Great pics and glad to hear that you're enjoying your new TT setup!

Yes, another one came online at CanuckAudioMart, this one ever cheaper....only $200 CDN with new Shure M91 cartridge. Don't need the cartridge, but it's always nice to have a spare. Emailed him a few minutes ago! Wish me luck, boys! This one has got to happen for me!

Thanks Rich. Thanks Fred. Your rooting for me means a lot! Still no reply, but I need to be patient.

And guess what, I found another one (someone sent me a link) from someone in the UK. It's in mint condition, Rosewood finish and £150. He has all the original packaging. This however, could come close to $400 or more with the exchange, shipping, possible duties & taxes, so I don't know what I'll do. It's always another option if the current Rebel Black doesn't work out. Hey, I could start a collection of Revolver TT's at this point! That actually would be pretty cool!

John
