Yea, she doesn't deserve any special treatment. If it were any of us in her shoes, we'd get the axe. I hope she can change her attitude and realize she isn't top shit and come down off her totem pole. Then maybe i'll stop hating her!
Your overly emotional reaction is typical but uninformed. The average person would not get a heavy sentence for such an offense. It's true she is an arrogant person and her little "I've found God now" act is tiresome. However she is actually feeling a reverse discrimination right now. People get let out early for minor issues like this all the time and they do not receive international scrutiny. I've had friends drive everyday for 2 years on a suspended license and no one even really thinks of it as unethical. Every college kid commits DUI at some point whether you admit it or not. It isn't right, but don't act like you're high & mighty.

So if we went into a courtroom for the same exact charges, and acted like a pompas ass with an attitude and acting like i'm better than God himself, the judge would see leniency on us? Bull, the judge wasn't having it! He didn't care about her social status or popularity. He was disgusted with her attitude and threw the book at her, plain and simple.

I don't give a crap about her social status and that she's a movie star, public icon (whatever) it's her attitude that drives me insane.

The fact is, if we acted like she did in the courtroom, we WOULD have gotten the same sentence. The average person, acting remorseful, wouldn't have recieved said sentence, your right.
She wasn't a remorseful person, pleading the judge to give leniency, she went in acting rich and pompus and thought she would get a slap on the wrist!

She's a *****. So are lots of people. Apparently you don't meet many people though. Lots of folks I see everyday have absolutely nothing going on in their lives, they aren't smart, aren't rich and don't have money and yet they think they are Gods gift. It isn't just the rich and it isn't just her. I'm not at all defending her or her actions. Then again I never cared about her in the first place. I just think all the haters are funny. The haters are just as bad as the media clowns who made her famous in the first place. in fact, you're just 2 sides of the same coin of stupidity.

If you claim not to care then why is it so painfully obvious that you care so much?

I guess cause I expressed my opinion! Sorry about that! Didn't think you'd take it personally!

when did i ever claim to care for her? I'm just happy to see the ***** put away!

You've obviously missed what I was saying completely! I was saying...the AVERAGE person wouldn't get that treatment.

Someone WITH an attitude like her would get the same treatment.

Pretty sure I didn't.

No, you care deeply about the situation not about her. That should be obvious. You can pretend not to care but your venom clearly exposes you.

I was saying...the AVERAGE person wouldn't get that treatment.

And when an average person gets released earlier than their sentence, which is the norm for even for a rapist or murderer, they don't get international scrutiny. That's my point.

Here's the real bottom line. She never deserved the fame and she also doesn't deserve the worldwide irrational hatred.

Paris should do the time for her crime (hey I am a poet and did not know it).

Actually she would have avoided jail if she would have not made such a mockery out of the justice system.

She wins anyway. I read an article where she will make $1 million for her jail time diary and up to $10 million for interviews and attending “get out of jail” parties. So all in all she will be fine.

her sentence was 40 days, and it was going to be reduced to 23 days for good behaviour, getting out in three days was never an option, if i'm not mistaken, when prisoners have medical issues they are taken to a hospital and they're time spent is frozen( at least thats the case for prisoners who get sent to mental institutions). I have no problem with her getting out early under the above said guidlines but being released after only 3 days shows that she really Does think the Law doesn't apply to her. She's going back because the judge flipped when she found out about her release and is going serve the full 40 day sentence. There sheriff responsible for her release is also under the spotlight now. As far as I can see it the issue has been resolved, yes there are problems with our justice system, yes these problems are at sometimes very serious (like when the Supreme court said "seperate but equal" was constitutional).
But this is NOT one of those issues, I agree she needs to serve her time, but I also agree that the scrutiny over this nanocosim is a blatant example of how vain and distracted our country has become.
P.S. I know they said the war in Iraq is over, but our troops are still over there, and people on both sides are still dieing. There are more important issues to worry about than what Pari$ Hilton is up to ...

I agree with tootalltom. Our society is ass backwards that we acutally argue about some stupid spoiled *****? We have far more better things to discuss, such as the war, homelessness, genocide(Darfur), missing children. I honestly don't know why so many people give a rats ass about her.

I sure don't. I recommend that we close this thread and get back to something more interesting: Blu-ray

By the way, I also read that if the sherif would have let her out for over-crowding reasons then she would not have had to go back. OK, enough with Paris...

Not to be "Holier than thou" but I really think that the use of the word ***** on any of the threads in this forum is innappropriate. I'm not saying I dont agree with you, but it reflects badly on the forum as a whole and takes away from the overall respectability as well as reputation of our community.

just throwin it out there....

P.S. - thanks for the support guys, it makes me think we're not as doomed as I sometimes feel we are

I am glad she will spend the rest of her time in jail. but as I have seen on this thread already, why is this poll on an blu-ray forum. Paris Hilton has nothing to do with blu-ray, unless you count the fact that a movie she is in is on blu-ray.
