They took an actress who is said to be woeful and nothing more than a pretty face and look how well she was received in BvS.

That isn't an endorsement of Rhonda Rousey btw. Just an example of a person that's not well regarded in most roles they played and then taken on a big title role and so far been received well.

Rousey should NOT be cast as Captain Marvel Imo. It should go to a more seasons and/or BETTER actress and besides, whilst she can nail down the 'tough' part of a character. I don't think she conveys through the other emotional beats you'd maybe expect to come into the fold in a single or sequel set of movies involving the character.

You are being a little bit unfair though. That's her as a fighter without make up and likely after being punched in the face say compared to when she's all done up in make up etc.

Still, that again isn't an endorsement. Wouldn't cast her in the role.

She hasn't particularly done any worse than any other person who attempts acting. Just look at the woeful TV movies that come out etc.

There is no difference between picking an actress who some folks think can't do a part and then she does well....

......and picking an athlete who has done bit parts to play the lead role in a $200 million movie.

Lol, what are you talking about. You said she wasn't an 'Actress' and I kind of disputed that because she's had a few film roles now and even if it isn't a main career, it still counts as something she's done and still will do if she chooses to when given opportunities she wants to take.

I never said she should be Captain Marvel. I said she's not any good for the role. At best, she's at present good enough for a one dimensional female villain.

$200 million movie for a new character? Lol.

Oh, I was unaware this was going to be one of Marvel's low budget movies. What you think the budget will be? The lowest Marvel budget was $130 mil for Ant-Man and doesn't Cap Marvel have a cosmic theme?--not cheap to do.

I just think that having a great athletic body will be a far second to the actress making the character mean something to the audience besides her physique.

Seriously, it's absurd to think she would ever be considered.

She has played small roles in action movies--nothing qualifies her to play the lead in the Marvel Universe.

She certainly wasn't praised for her acting. Wonder Woman was praised pretty much for her action scene, where she was CG for much of it.

You say that but then why didn't we see her lumped in as being one of the most woeful things about the movie or just 'meh'. Instead, majority of the opinions I saw said she did come across well in the role with what she was given.

I have no idea how I feel about them splitting these next two Avengers movies up. I was looking forward to a two part epic showdown between 10,000 Avengers and Thanos. I don't know, we'll see what comes of this.

And I like how the article states "Everyone hates two parters". Funny, in my experience, nobody hates them.
