Just the fireteam leader. Like in Crucible where the leader needed to be 27 I think.

Its to keep be underleveled parties out.

So exotic trade-ins don't have to be fully upgrade before trading them? I hope not. At least I have not spent any shards. But Bungie just gave me a reason to NOT play this game this week.

That's what I thought, yeah I know dumb question but I had to ask.

I'll be content if we can at least get to the first major chest. I don't think I can play 4+ hours straight.

Agreed there is no real reason for me to play anymore this week. I guess I could get close to getting a new vanguard and/or faction level and sit on it until after the DLC.

Im still down to do the Casual's normal raid Sunday just to try and get a piece of raid gear out of principle.

You can trade them anytime, which is a big reason why folks are waiting to upgrade them till after the DLC drops.

All I know is... I will be upgrading my new boom stick, the Ice Breaker.

And it's not specific whether you just lose the materials required when you trade them, or if you lose the applied XP, too. Regardless, I'm not upgrading anything else this week. As long has Xur has the item, and you have the glimmer and an exotic shard, it looks like you can trade it, whether it is fully upgraded or not. What would really be bad, is if folks bought a shard now to fully upgrade, and then another shard to trade. So 14 coins later....

I see. I had only read the actual news release on the Bungie site. It does not specify.

It's all good. Like you mentioned, perhaps this is all designed to deplete coins and glimmer. Even more so now after this news. 2 shards would be used if you choose to trade a fully leveled exotic weapon, perhaps on top of an initial purchase price of X amount of coins.

Yep. Coins will definitely now matter, at least for the next month or two until everyone either has their old gear upgraded or has bought new gear. Good thing I have a steady-stream of 27+ coming in every week.

They are releasing the Level 30 Normal Raid on 12/9 and the Level 32 Hard Raid in January. This will give players the chance to get the new raid gear that will get them to level 32 to prepare for the hard raid.
