This 1963 Italian film was given a 4K rerelease in France four months ago and is coming out on Blu-ray there (no English subs) in May. Looks like the kind of thing Radiance might release.

Could be, assuming it's not a controversial restoration in any way and is UHD-worthy (don't think MGM are easy to deal with these days in terms of regrading/post-restoration cleanup, could be wrong...unless you're a bigger label like Arrow or Criterion that is). |

Not sure if this has been mentioned here but there was indeed a Bresson title planned but Radiance were outbid, also lists 9 other films that they couldn't issue but had intended to: https://boxd.it/Bc3bE/detail
another list of unproduced 2023 titles: https://boxd.it/qT9UM/detail |

Wish Radiance had got it as who knows how long Criterion will sit on it. Last edited by Olmo; 02-09-2025 at 09:18 AM. |

I guess spine 5 could be reserved for Naked Violence and spine 9 for Kidnap Syndicate to accommodate all the available remastered Di Leo films nicely one after another chronologically.

When it comes to Radiance I've been mostly interested in their Japanese titles, but I also want to check out more of their catalog besides the Japanese titles. As some titles look really interesting like some of their Italian titles.

i'm similar, but have watched some of the italian releases. i'm keen on solid genre films, so japan and italy are part of my interests. the radiance titles from italy i like the most are the damiano damiani films, of which there are quite a few.

I’m in a similar position in regards to my fondness for Japanese cinema. But their Italian stuff is very strong. Slap The Monster on Page One is one of my new favorite discoveries.

![]() Rather show support for quality stores and $48 is still very well priced. Just pre-ordered The Eel today speaking of Orbit. |

I wonder if the recent roaring success of their (beautiful) LE of Häxan has Radiance considering releasing similar editions of other classic silent cinema? I'd love to see The Phantom Carriage get a similar, lavish treatment from them

Watched The Cat yesterday and enjoyed it overall, just wish it was a bit more intense. Also watched about 30 minutes of Hokuriku Proxy War last night and couldn't believe how good the transfer looked. Will post a more "formal" review of that one once I finish watching it tonight. It's crazy how many Fukasaku films we have gotten from Radiance and hope it doesn't stop anytime soon.

Here's my quick comparison of the Gang War in Milan Raro releases (new UK one through Radiance and the old US one).
https://slow.pics/c/zPrPkolG It's interesting because this is one of those Raro releases that did not get a new 4K scan, but the colors and compression still look better to me on the UK version. I hope they eventually get around to redoing a release for Live Like A Cop, Die Like a Man, and ideally with a new scan. That's one of the roughest looking ones from the old batch. |

I'd love for Raro UK to put out Stunt Squad, and of course the delayed release of Napoli La Camorra Sfida La Citta Risponde. Fabio Testi hyperfilm Speed Driver is high on my wishlist, also the magnificent slow-burner, and reportedly 'the polizio that started it all' La Polizia Ringrazia aka Das Syndikat, would be amazing. All essential polizio viewing imho. Puppet On A Chain would be wonderful too, if only for the fact it plays host to one of the greatest 'shot in one take' chase sequences ever captured on celluloid. Heck, throw C'etait Un Rendezvous out there too please! ![]() |

Hope you are lucky with your selections here as well. Would love the bolded ones myself. Malizia is one of the few commedie sexy I could imagine Radiance releasing; Storaro's involvement might even make this one respectable.. More Arrabal would be great and I wonder why the Inspector Betti films are not readily available anywhere (are they?). Inspired by your italian selections, I'd like to add a few wishes from my huge italian wishlist to yours; namely, Visconti's Vaghe stelle dell'Orsa, Zurlini's Il deserto dei Tartari, Scola's Brutti, sporchi e cattivi and Passione d'amore, Calderone's Appassionata, Brass' Col cuore in gola and L'urlo, Monicelli's La grande guerra and anything by Ferreri (Tales of Ordinary Madness in particular). Also, will mention a single non-italian title: Alea's Last supper, which I feel would be a perfect fit for the Radiance catalogue. |
