The vibes are like used car salesmen...glitz, glamor and flash for an end product that is so-so if not a lemon.

Or if your are patient enough, buy it with color correction + slip from Ronin for under $30.... we all know it’s going to happen sooner than not.

see, i agree with this. at least the scalpers don’t pretend that they’re not scalping. their pricing is very much, “eff you, you know you’ve got no other options.” meanwhile, df’s bundles are sold as amazing, low-price deals and an apple-like unboxing experience by which we should all be very overwhelmed, but they know they’re forcing unwanted inventory down your throat. it’s like the guy selling crack in the alley versus the doctor who prescribes you opioids because your knee hurts. don’t piss on my shoes and tell me it’s raining.

That is the main reason no one I know is buying this time around. I'm tapped out from the leak over the garage, but, if I weren't, I think I'd still be staying out of it for this round. I have no intention of financing a legal attack on a competitor.

Now, if David wants to make it clear he's not going after competing stores, no matter what they decide to sell or not sell, that he's keeping it clean by only going after the infringing company in Germany, I think that would make a lot of people feel better about where their money is going, if they spend it at Dark Force.

Is participating in the building of financing for a legal attack on a competing store, in light of his stated goals of putting Jesse in jail or shutting his store down, really where I want my money to go? No. It really isn't.

I won't help finance hurting people. Yes, I care about supporting Bill and David in their businesses. No, I won't help them seek and destroy other businesses. I'm Pollyanna, for crying in the mud.
This exchange is priceless. Thank you!

So reading the verbiage for LOSERS,
another film released on DVD by Code Red years ago, like PSYCHO
....we have another of Demon's magic upscales coming?

The new HD master with amazing color work plays very close to the nonsense we heard about BREEDERS & PSYCHO FROM TEXAS?

Thanks for the Sunday Morning legalese laughs....
upping the ante.

Not if Bill can't find the data file. He said something about the plant not having it or not knowing which pressing plant had it or something. It was a bit of a confusing statement but the general idea was that he can't re-press it now. which is sad, because I'd buy the new edition with corrected audio and slipcover. I'd pay 27.99, with the man's permission, as that extra $3 would be worth, "never hearing you talk about that stupid movie again", where you is actually me.

Do you think prices will crash on ebay with the new version, such that I could pick up Bill's for $25? I know DF will be selling it for $50 until it is gone, because that is the price Bill negotiated for the film in his store, but ebay prices are based in supply and demand and that new version will be the more coveted version, one would think, given that it is a mediabook.

My Deadfall mediabook, $20, is still just sitting there looking pretty, next to Hercules.... Oh, I'm sorry. Herkules. I got the mediabook in part because it says Hercules. I got the $6 blu that says Herkules for a friend. It drove them crazy. Now that I think of it, it was the mediabook he bought that drove him crazy. I think they put Herkules as the title on one of the other covers.... Why?

Explain how this is blatantly ripping off customers. We have a handful left and this one will never be repressed in it's current version. It sells for much higher anywhere else. If it's worth double, triple or more in 6 months from now you think people will feel like they were ripped off? When they raise the price of gas do you complain to the gas station owners that they are blatantly ripping customers off? You better never start your own business toaster, cause you'll definitely FAIL.

We stated clearly that it was made from an excellent 35mm print and then extensive color correction. Why don't you come down to the Dark Force headquarters and we can show you how great it looks,

https://vinegarsyndrome.com/collecti...tions-in-stock

You don't see the prices on these going up.... even the ones that will never be repressed in any edition.
Also, your cost on them didn't go up as is what happens when gas stations raise their prices...

It's not. I think they just didn't feel like going over the whole price list in order to demonstrate where overcharging is occurring. It is fair to charge more for a truly OOP title with just a handful of copies left. However, price gouging is never considered acceptable. For instance, anything more than the $30 price tag of the mediabook being charged for BBNM in America, when Bill is claiming he'll re-press, even if he never does re-press it, is seen as gouging. Charging $40 for a release in a series that has always had a nice $20-$25 price tag, per individual title, is also seen as overcharging, of course I'm speaking of GoH.

Again, the increase of Dead Pit from $35 to $40, given that there are only a couple left and Dark Force went on record that they aren't re-pressing anytime soon, given all the other releases they have coming up, but may do a standard edition at some point in the future, is fair. Mostly, it is the drastic increase in the Drive-In series individual title price, which continues to horrify fans, and the BBNM price, which funnily enough people seem to be forgetting was set by Bill himself, as a condition of letting you/Dark Force sell them.

You are changing prices of your own titles because “stock is low”. I’ve never seen Arrow, Scream a Factory, Vinegar Syndrome or any other label that are selling limited editions decide to raise the price of their titles as they go down. You can’t say “Prices are even higher on eBay” and think that’s a justifiable excuse to raise your prices. You’re seriously going to compare a blu ray price hike to gas prices raising??? This is why your label will never be in the big leagues.

"Dark Force Entertainment:

HUGE LABOR DAY SPECIAL!!
Now Available at the Dark Force Superstore DRIVE-IN #6 standard edition ONLY 27.95 Blu-ray BD50-50 AVAILABLE
ALSO just added a few more BUTCHER BAKER & DEAD PITS so hurry on over they sell out instantly.
STAY WITH US FOR MORE SPECIALS THIS BRUTAL HOLIDAY WEEKEND AT DARK FORCE:"

Read that twice, so you know what you are getting, RUINED. They have the standard edition of GoH for $28 and BBNM as a stand-alone for a full $20 more than the mediabook, that is $50, for anyone who can't do math.

But, again, Ruined had said he wanted the standard of GoH, which now has a standard/glow-cover-less edition for $28 plus shipping or just $28 if you have something else you want to pair with it.

BBNM is FIFTY DOLLARS. If I bought that, you'd be hearing about my murder on the news. He'd be sobbing and exclaiming, "He came out of nowhere, I don't know how he got in", all surrounded by cops whispering to each other, "Really don't know how he waited this long, she was pretty annoying". Good guys, but, yeah, that's what they'd be saying.... Fifty freaking dollars....

FIFTY!

Imagine walking into Best Buy for a brand new LE steelbook of Avengers Endgame, you get there and they are down to the last 5 copies. They aren’t going to repress them. For some reason this store decided to raise the price on the steelbook from $34.99 to $39.99. Is that ripping you off or is that a reasonable thing for them to do?

Dude, I'm DMC. Who pays $35 for a 4K of any Marvel film? Screw the steelbook. I can get that sucker for $15, practically any day of the year, along with a bunch of its 4K friends at $15 a pop, with one regular price ($29.95) title of my choice. I choose nothing, because they'll choose for me, because they're all $29.95.

Marvel from a Best Buy....

What is going on with you today? Really. You're not quite up to your usual. Everything okay? (I'm serious and hope everything is okay.)

Also, Best Buy would never do that because it would be rude.

I'll let you in on a little secret Dave, Blu-rays aren't a very good investment for retirement. In fact, Blu-rays generally decrease in value over time. You'd make more money for retirement by simply leaving your money in a bank account.

EDIT: But thanks for reminding me why I choose to move out of CA... I no longer have to pay ridiculously inflated gas prices.
