Adding a commendation just to purchase gear or weapons is ridiculous. For instance, I'm leveling Dead Orbit faction through PVE. Dead Orbit gear takes Crucible marks. PVE gives me Vanguard marks. How can I spend Vanguard marks when I need a Vanguard commendation, which you can only get by hitting the next reputation level of Vanguard.

The only change I do like is the addition of the Exotic Shard for exotic weapons.

It's all horsesheit. The only purpose of the changes is to make you spend more time playing the game. If the weapons are reset to 300 base damage, it's not as bad, but all of those resources for a 10% damage boost?

Now, also remember Xur won't be trading all weapons every week. So, good luck to you waiting to upgrade the one you want to trade, only to find he does not trade it for eight weeks. Like me waiting for a Titan helmet or a Gjallahorn to drop.

I'm thinking the upgrades may be sold as generic weapon/armor type, similar to the telemetries. So he'll sell a fusion rifle upgrade, not a Plan C upgrade. At least, that's what it looks like to me in the one screenshot of the new Xur on the Bungie page. From that, it looks like he'll offer all weapon upgrade types and many (but not all) armor upgrades (as I assume the armor will be offered class-specific). Pure speculation on my part. If this is done by exact weapon/armor piece (by name), we may as well just start acquiring all new gear for as long as it will take waiting for the right upgrade.

Edit: Never mind. I just blew-up the Xur photo, and the gear upgrades appear to be specific. This is going to suck!

Holy hell, more grinding? This is absurd. Considering there are so few new missions to play you are going to be stuck playing the same damn missions over and over AGAIN. And it's really just 1 mission (minus the raid, that you will also play dozens of times) because its the same design over and over.

Then when House of Wolves comes out you get to do it all again.

It blows my mind how popular this game is still, and why people waste time playing this s*** when there are much better games out there.

No because we will be able to upgrade it from scratch and make it better. You shouldn't have upgraded it at all until Tuesday.

+1 I'm not upgrading my exotics at all this week by turning in bounties. Just focusing on my last Legendaries that need upgrading. I'm not even bothering upgrading my Legendary armor as well since there will be better armor to buy next Tuesday.

Basically this week is all about gathering glimmer, mats and marks.

Nah! Xur won't be trading that until mid January. But two or three people will get a better launcher as a random drop from a strike on Tuesday.

I think I notice a lack of enthusiasm now. You all know what I mean. You all know who you are. Between this week's update and news, I think Bungie really screwed the more casual player and those with more time restrictions. I hate them. On par with, say, the IRS. I will be on tomorrow. I think I will work on the Monte Carlo for a while. I have one node left on Thorn, Red Death, The Last Word and Invective.

Gold your 1st public event not getting your postmaster reward is a bug.

It is a known issue that the Gold Tier public event rewards are not appearing at the Postmaster. The team is aware of the issue and is working on a fix.

Yup, last night was the slowest I have seen it, at one point it was just me and you on out of everyone in my friends list....that has never happened before at any time of day. Everything just feels like a waste of time now.

Did my 2 Dailies, and leveled up my Titan to 15 last night.

I have 2 more slots to fully upgrade my Raid helmet to become a 30 for my Warlock. Just need about 14 more shards. Hopefully I can get them tonight when we raid.

I wasn't on, but it wasn't by choice. But you're right. Most people don't see the point of doing much of anything aside from dailies/weeklies/nightfall before the DLC, as it won't really get you anywhere (unless you have raid gear to level, like me).

I remember someone (Josh?) asking about running a 29 tonight. If so, I'll run a 30, assuming all goes as planned with leveling when I get home this afternoon. If not, I may want to run my Titan in hopes of getting a chest or helmet.

Worst case scenario we can have 3 29's on the team. I'm running my Hunter @ 29. She's long overdue getting that last piece!
