Unboxing of the first movie. A look at the packaging if nothing else.

I got an update from Amazon saying Halloween 1978 (I pre-ordered Halloween I and II, this only concerns I) is now estimated to deliver between the 15th to the 18th...and Best Buy has it in stores a week early...sigh.

Pleasence isn't his strongest in the additional scenes - and they really slow things down, IMO. Part of the beauty of the original cut is the pacing, and it's just not something that needs to be messed with.

Very glad to have seen them - but I'm all set with the regular cut of the film in glorious 4K going forward.
One thing that I do appreciate about one of the added scenes, is that they explain that Michael Meyers broke out of his room/cell and let out all the other patients. For the longest time, I always wondered why the hell all the mental patients and Michael Meyers were roaming outside in the middle of the night, in the poring rain. I never was a fan that the theatrical version never really explained this. I'm glad that this scene cleared that up.

I believe this is the first report of a shipping confirmation that I've seen in this thread. Has anyone else's pre-order shipped out yet? Frankly, I'm surprised with Shout! Factory. How do other retailers somehow manage to ship their own product before they do themselves?

Just Preordered all 5.

Pricey but I cannot wait for a price drop I want to enjoy them ASAP and also can marathon then before release of the new film in a couple weeks.

Nothing will beat owning these at the beginning of Oct vs waiting till Nov or late for a sale.

I just think Amazon is de-prioritizing physical media shipments. I had the Metallica 3CD Remastered Black Album on order from them, and they weren't going to ship it until like four days AFTER the release date. I canceled it and picked it up at Target on the release date itself.

I also just canceled my Amazon order for the Halloween 4K after seeing Best Buy already had it available in-store. I half figured it would ship late, anyway. Now, my only remaining Amazon pre-order is the re-release of The Relic on Blu-Ray, which is set for next Tuesday as well. No updates on that yet.

No idea how Best Buy and Bull Moose all have stock ready to sell and ship, but Amazon is like a week and a half behind. Glad I didn't renew my Prime membership.

My order from Best Buy that I placed in early July has been delayed and hasn’t shipped. Pretty annoying since it is available in stores and I could have ordered it yesterday with a arrival date in a couple of days. Telling me a Sept 29 - Oct 2 arrival. Problem is, it is now Oct 30 and still hasn’t shipped.

I know right? I literally had to deal with a similar issue with A Clockwork Orange not even a week ago. The only reason I'm keeping the amazon order now is because I had some gift cards to waste.

Honestly, I'm okay with waiting on these. I'm a massive diehard fan of the franchise, about as big of one as you can get, but I've overspent on BDs recently, so I might get these next year instead in time for Halloween Ends. It's not like they're limited editions, and I DON'T want those hideous slipcases, and I'll be flipping the art as soon as I get these. I thought about swapping the copies in my boxset for these, but I've already frankensteined that thing enough by fitting in the TCs of the Zombie films.

Exactly it is the best 120mm disc release. Chase Atmos, Chase 7.1, Chase 5.1, then a Non-Chase Filtered Mono Original (No added Foley sounds) Best picture of any disc ever put out. EDT some Extras too. It's definitive enough for the price, and everything included.

Hearing all these delays I hope it comes within a week after release I won’t complain too much as I’m late on the list.

I always prefer picking out my movies but all the local stores have stopped or dwindled down the physical media to nothing.

Tried to go pick up Halloween 1978 today but they was sold out.

Sucks that online is my only way anymore and i have to deal with anxiety of a good copie(s) arriving in the mail ok.

Is the grey UHD Bar on top of the slipcase printed, or a sticker/J-card-thingy?

How do I price track on this site I haven't done it in a long time? Did they move the buttons or too many linky things...

I could be wrong, but I thought they got rid of it.

My direct order from SHOUT! says “processing”… I admittedly have to wonder if that’s anything like ‘final processing’ In all seriousness, I’m glad people are getting it early via BB so we can hear more opinions of the new transfers and audio specs. But I am admittedly pretty jelly lol. I’m hopeful we at least start seeing these ship in the next few days. I can’t wait to marathon before the new film!

Had this issue with so many Friday the 13th deluxe edition sets among other things. Like we're these packaged in someone's garage or basement?

My biggest problem here is the same as with virtually all other UHDs, HDR. HDR sucks. It’s a horrible misused and misunderstood tool. It makes the picture too dark. This is inexcusable. Other than that, this is a super release.
THANK YOU!! I swear people swear up and down how HDR is the biggest benefit of UHD. Can't stand it for the same reasons it's so unstandardized. And so many films look ridiculously too dark because of it. I love when some boutique labels don't even bother with it.
