The only thing I didn't like about Adventureland was the hottie that everyone got worked up over, not only was she a complete jerk but she also wasn't as attractive as they wanted you to think.

Anchorman(Blu-ray)

Film:4.5/5
Fun Fun Funny Fun. This film is loaded with one liners it's ridiculous. One of the best comedies ever. It's about time it's on blu-ray.

Every character in this brings something to the table and I think that is why this film works so well. I'm sure while these guys were on the set that they couldn't stop laughing. Some of the extras show that.

If you love comedies like myself pick this up today!

Because he sucked in this film.

[Show spoiler] I think this is my favorite Denzel performance. The role required him to play a lot of different personality traits and he did a great job.

It is definitely one of his top performances for sure. I havnt ordered them but to me Malcolm X is his best performance. This one is pretty high on my list as well. Just a great film man! Got Em!!

The Butterfly Effect 2.”

Obviously this can’t beat the original. I expected some more direct-to-video trash like “S Darko” or something.

Well, this film takes the same idea and applies it to some business dude. It has some interesting parts, but I can’t say it’s anywhere near as thrilling as the first film. In fact, parts of it dragged; there just wasn’t much conflict to this new story. Characters are okay, but not nearly as engaging as the first film. Heck, the first film is superior in many ways.

Even on its own merits, this movie is merely passable, given its average plot and characters. Photography is solid, and production value looks okay. It’s all just okay.

Ah heck who am I kidding, it's more direct-to-video junk...

2.5/5 (entertainment: 2.5/5, story: 2/5, film: 3/5)

This Blu-Ray is…just okay. The video has decent color/contrast, and is detailed well-enough, but it does look a bit smudgey, either from DNR or some other digital manipulation (might have been filmed on digital cameras in the first place, who knows?). Sound quality is okay; once again, nothing really ear-shattering, but dialogue is clear.

PQ: 3.5/5, AQ: 3.5/5

The realism of the film and the direction of the film is well done.

Yes I know I talk about Denzel so much as he is the greatest actor in my eyes but how can u not love his performance? He still amazes me and yall already know how high I am on him. He had a truly brilliant performance thus the reason he won best supporting actor. I also thought Matthew Broderick did very well and his performance and portrayal was very believeable and to me that was hard as seeing him as a goofy Ferris Bueller but he pulled it off.

This film is very touching and very emotional at times and the climax and ending was heartfelt & sad, but u could only admire and commend 54 for what they had been through and what they were willing to sacrifice. Just an absolute great film and one of the greatest films ever made in my eyes.

Film Rating - 5 stars (out of 5)

Got Em!!
I'm glad you enjoyed this film and if you enjoy nicely done Civil War History, try to see Gettysburg. I wish it was available on Blue but sadly only the lesser sequel is available on BD.

Gettysburg better come out soon, that's one of my favourite battles of all-time and probably one of the top 4 war films of all-time, also.

Now that I am finished with LOST season 6 I have time for movies again.

Chloe (2009)

Psychological sex-o-drama.

Here is my review.

Sexy for the sake of sexy. Blah. Meh. Disjointed and clunky storytelling. Not interesting or "sneaky" enough to be a good thriller. I love Jullianne Moore and even more when shes is
[Show spoiler]naked
, but that couldnt save this picture. Slow, fumbling, no intrigue = YAWN.

2/5

The Expendables 3.5/5

It wasn't 80s at all! It was quick cuts and shakycam. The cast was great, especially Dolph Lundgren. The action was awesome but just not 80s like. Eric Roberts was a cool badguy and the chemistry between Sly and Statham was great, too. I wish they would have shown more of the other expendables, but then they would have had to trim the perfect finale I guess

The Butterfly Effect 3: Revelations.”

Managed to squeeze this last one in.

This third film definitely ramps up the violence and sex, falling in line more with the style and content of the first film (and thus bringing back the primal human violence element). It gets a little excessively gnarly, looking more like a serial killer slasher rather than a psychological thriller.

But the film works in its own way; I still wouldn’t say as good as the first film (it still seems to have the best story, characters, photography, and everything), but it definitely surpasses the second one. #3 has halfway decent characters and a halfway decent story filled with explosive drama and mystery. Photography is a bit shaky and rough, but it keeps with the visceral content.

Ranking these three films, this one falls right in the middle.

3.5/5 (entertainment: 3.5/5, story: 3/5, film: 3.5/5)

This one by far has the best quality. The picture is sharp, clear, clean, and highly detailed, but still retains a very slight natural-looking level of grain and noise. Color and contrast are good. Sound quality is perhaps a little better than the other two films.

PQ: 4.5/5, AQ: 4/5
