It's one of those shows people rave about, but when you watch it, you fall asleep.

MIB3 day one! I hated 2, but this was a worthy sequel.

It's great, if you like cop dramas that are well written and acted. Certainly worth a try at any rate.

Justified is one of the better Elmore Leonard adaptations, up there with Get Shorty, Jackie Brown and Out of Sight.

Justified is an entertaining modern day western, the second and third season are much better than the first season, though. But it has some of the best dialogue of current running TV shows.

Justified is amazing - well written, very well acted, and pretty damn funny in parts too! Highly recommended

Excuse me whilst I just step over here and have a myocardial infarction...

EDIT: EzyDVD has it for $86.97 so JB is not a mistake. Looks like $70-75 is what we'll be paying. Now, if Paramount can guarantee they're releasing the full show in Australia and not pull a TOS by stopping part way through then I'm in. Make the ratings logos on the slipcover stickers and that'd be a big SOLD for me.

The new release has video encoded in AVC — I've seen screenshots online, and honestly it looks pretty much the same as the AVC transfer on our existing "Special Edition" release, so I'm wondering if it's the same one we've already got. (Ours looks much better to me than the "before" shots in the comparisons from the UK, no question. I tried them on my PC, side by side.) And the new one has a DTS-HD MA audio track; again, our SE release already has that, so I wouldn't be surprised if the new audio transfer is the same as the one we've already got. Up until now, the UK has only had a VC-1 video encode, and the US has had MPEG-2 video and DTS 5.1 audio, so it's going to be more of an upgrade for them.

Seems to me the only thing this new AUS release might be worth a re-buy for could be the extras, if that's your thing, but other than the audio commentary they don't seem substantial.

Not sure what screenshots you've seen but this new release is quite different. This one has a complete different scan and new contrast/colour timing. The original release AU/UK looked OK but suffered from edge enhancement and some compression issues. The US one was complete junk. The special edition AU/UK release used the same master as the original release but appears a little DNR was used, having said that the compression was better handled. This new one is completely different:

Majorly different contrast, colours and handling of the grain.

It also has a lenticular slip cover for those that are swayed by that kind of thing

The Australian release I have, as I said, is an AVC encode. The UK one is a VC-1. The screenshots you've linked to are comparing the existing VC-1 encode with the new AVC encode. It was this new AVC encode I compared my existing BD to.

Possibly interested in Ransom and Devils Double. I have not seen Ransom in years, so I don't know how well it holds up..

It has been added to the August line-up (15th)

Sony also just added: Pirates! Band of Misfits to their September line up

It should be an improvement compared to all current versions available. It will likely be the same transfer as the new upcoming U.S 'Mind Bending Edition' which is being released at the end of July, and was approved by the director. Are you sure the screenshots you have seen are of this new transfer?

Paramount told me that if we buy them, they'll release the whole show. That includes them releasing TOS season 3 as well.
