I think this sums up what will happen in Season Six:
[Show spoiler]"I look forward to when Olmos almost, but doesn't quite discover Dexter's secret or when he's discovered to be the big bad and finds out Dexter's secret only to find himself under Dexter's knife while Deb frantically rushes to the scene only to find herself arriving moments too late to learn the truth."

When has anything different happened? Dexter finds common ground with someone, hesitates, then kills them. Rudy, Lyla, Garza, Walter...

I didn't say I do. I just posted casting news for those that still do. I grew tired of this when Trinity was still on and quit watching.

I see both sides. Dexter was AMAZING through season 4. then they had one of the best endings I have ever seen on a TV series. Then came season 5. went back into mediocre and played it safe with the tried and true Dexter formula. Now they are adding on an extra 1 or 2 seasons at least. It feels like "How I met your mother" and are just stretching it out as long as they can milk the cash cow instead of telling a store and ENDING it when they need to instead of see how long they can force it along.

'Lights Out's Billy Brown joins 'Dexter' cast

Quote:
Former Lights Out star Billy Brown has signed up for the sixth season of Dexter as a key new character.

Brown will join the Showtime drama as hard-nosed homicide detective Mike Cutler in a recurring role when the series returns later this year.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brown's character will 'ruffle some feathers' when he transfers from Chicago to the Miami Metro Police Department.

Brown is the latest new addition to join the popular series, following several cast departures at the end of season five.

Those already confirmed for the new season include rapper Mos Def, former Roswell star Colin Hanks and Battlestar Galactica alumni Edward James Olmos.

Production on the sixth season of Dexter began earlier this week in Los Angeles, and the show is due to return on Showtime this fall.

It really just seemed like they didn't want to take any risks because they didn't know where to bring the story. Which is why Chip was replaced after one season. I just don't understand why they chose him out of everyone, he worked on mediocre shows. If Deb doesn't find out about him this season then they are dragging it out.

Brea Grant Books Recurring Role on 'Dexter'

Quote:
Variety reports that Brea Grant (Halloween II, "Heroes") booked a recurring role in the sixth season of Showtime's "Dexter". She joins Edward James Olmos, Colin Hanks and Mos (formerly Mos Def) wo were added for a major season-long arc.

Production on "Dexter" is now underway for a premiere this fall.

"Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) spent Season Five atoning for the death of his wife, Rita. He committed to being a part of her children's lives and entered into a deep, passionate relationship with Lumen, unlike anything he'd ever had before. But Dexter's need to kill overpowers his desire for human connection. And now that one person knows the truth about him, and a few others are close, how much longer will America's favorite serial killer be able to keep his dark side a secret?"
