so the reviewer say the 3D is flat i remember in the theater it was quite goo. So my is this not the same 3D experience as the theater version
have they actually made it worse for home release?

I saw the film in IMAX 3D and Real-D 3D, and in both formats I was almost entirely underwhelmed with the 3D personally. If you'd told me it was a 2D post conversion, I'd believe you.

I wasn't really a fan of the movie, felt too unnecessary.
Was hoping awesome 3D would still make this a must buy though. Does not look like a day one purchase to me now.

For my money, the story between Gwen and Peter is much more emotionally honest and real than ANYTHING that Raimi was able to put together in his trilogy.
Thank you for some common sense in this thread.

Loved this movie. It's everything I wanted the Raimi movies to be.

So you wanted Peter to reveal his identity to MJ in the first installment and have Mary Jane helping Spider-Man combat The Green Goblin's scheme??

Yeah, that real emotional honesty for ya.

The 3-D in the theater wasn't very pronounced until the ending, really, which was shot in a different aspect ratio. I guess they aren't "opening up" the blu-ray to reflect this.

Sure. This film blew away the Raimi versions and was closer to the Spider-Man I grew up reading in the 70s and 80s.

Better than agonizing over it incessively in Spider-Man 2 to the point of exhaustion.

Spider-Man road a skateboard, had parents, and Norman Connors looked like Killer Croc meets the Hulk in the 70's and 80's? Was this the Unreleased Electric Company Spider-Man episodes?

What did I miss?

Better than having MJ constantly be the damsel in distress. At least Gwen DID SOMETHING.

What I really wanted was to have a Peter that was a social outcast more than a putz. That's where this movie delivered. I've been reading Spider-Man comics for 17 years (I'm 25). While this is definitely an updated version of the origin, Andrew Garfield played the character that I have read about for 17 years.

Yup, he had parents. He had to have had parents to have been born.

This is more what red epic should look like. The color in her hair was very apparent in the theater.

So true. The non existent chemistry between Maguire and Dunst in all three movies was awful. The Amazing Spiderman was just on another level. Not only were the actors much better, there was real chemistry between the two leads. The one thing I did not like was the villain. They just went way too far with him. It did not fit the rest of the movie. Overall a better movie than any of the Raimi movies though.
