This is how I see it going down on Oscar night:

Best Picture - Argo
Best Director - David O. Russell - Silver Linings Playbook
Best Actor - Daniel Day Lewis - Lincoln
Best Actress - Jennifer Lawrence - Silver Linings Playbook
Best Supporting Actor - Tommy Lee Jones - Lincoln
Best Supporting Actress - Anne Hathaway - Les Miserables

The Oscars may actually not be totally predictable this year after all (Although Hathaway and Day Lewis are 110% locks to win).
I agree 1000% with this post - Picture, Director, the Acting categories & Esp JENNIFER LAWRENCE for S.L.P.

Beasts of the Southern Wild...

Where to even start with this one. Didn't anyone else see through all the bullshit this film had to offer? It was one of the most artificial films I saw in 2012. Told through the eyes of a 6 year old girl or not, no matter how you look at it, it's still bad.

Sure the kid did fine, but best actress nomination? What a joke. The academy is really throwing her a bone on that one. Big slap in the face to the actresses that got snubbed in favor for her. "aww look at the poor little black girl, she was cute, give her a nomination".

Does anyone think there's a big chance Christoph Waltz may grab Best Supporting Actor?

I hope it's either him or Phillip Seymour Hoffman. People think Tommy Lee Jones is a shoe in to win, but I actually think it's one of the more unpredictable categories this year.

All five nominees are previous winners. Waltz would be my personal pick, and he did win the Golden Globe, but I'm still going with TLJ. Maaaaybe De Niro if they really go for Silver Linings Playbook. This is indeed one of the more exciting categories tho.

Thank You! So much love for this movie, and I don't get it. Wallis did a fine job(great job, for a child), but I didn't see anything there that warrants an acting nomination. Frankly, all the nominations it got baffle me.

Big chance? No

A chance? Yes

It should be competitive, and Waltz does have a chance, but he's not the favorite.

Yeah, but so what? He's great, and he will win again. When he wins again is the question

I say Lincoln gets at least 10 wins. I could be wrong, but at least if I'm right I'll only be disappointed, not disappointed and blindsided.

Which 10?
Lead Actor-Lock
Supporting Actor-Good chance
Supporting Actress-No chance
Best Picture-Maybe
Adapted Screenplay-probably not
Director-Decent chance
Costume Design-going up against Les Mis & Anna Karenina will be tough
(A lot of technical awards will go to Life of Pi, so not sure how many of the below it can win )
Editing
Sound Mixing
Original Score
Production Design
Cinematography

We watched 'The Sessions' last night. Terrific movie! More humorous and witty than I expected! And Helen Hunt's performance has me questioning my confidence that Anne Hathaway will win the Best Supporting Actress Oscar.

I'll see how I feel on Feb 24 but, right now, I think I'll be rooting for Helen Hunt!

What did you think of John Hawkes? I haven't seen it yet, but he's always great.

That movie looks good, but seeing as she's not WON Any awards of note (for the role), all the rooting in the world prob isn't going to help her chances. Not a bag towards You, just the chances of her winning. Anne Hathaway is Hollywood's Darling these days & her role in LES MIS' is just the kind of big time Star performance they love. I have NO inclination to see the movie, & might rent it down the line, but I do follow many of the Awards shows, Critics Award winners, etc., & she's Clearly the front-runner come OSCAR Night.

All that said, I'd LOVE to see Helen Hunt win, or even Amy Adams , cuz' you know we'd be subjected to a Massive blubber fest of tears if Anne does indeed Win.

Hawkes did a great job playing Mark O'Brien. He certainly convinced me that he was really a quadriplegic. He might have received a Best Actor Oscar Nomination if that category wasn't already overflowing with great performances.

BTW and FWIW, even though 'The Sessions' doesn't come out on DVD and Blu-ray until next week, it's already available for rental (or purchase) on iTunes and probably a few other online services.

Here's all the BAFTA winners:

I'd almost say Argo is a dead cert if it was guaranteed another award other than Best Picture.

Tarantino and Waltz won for Django again!
He BETTER win that Oscar!. I will not accept another winner in that category.
Really hope QT and Waltz can win screenplay and Supp. Actor at the Oscars this year. That is the least they can do for Django.
