Here's what I got Thursday 11th April:

The other two Masters Of Cinema titles came. I decided to pop into HMV and get The Hobbit 3D. There is a very slight mark on the back, but as the rest were all dented and damaged, I could have done a lot worse. The steelbook also came on the same day from Amazon, and so did the three Scanners titles, including the first one on steelbook

This is what I got Friday 12th April:

I thought I might as well pick up Toy Story 3 from Amazon as it was only £4.29 and I also got another title for my Dogwoof DVD collection

It's a shame they didn't turn the Scanners steel into a Trilogy set. Nice haul.

Bit of both really. Mostly use kimchi or yesasia. Kimchi is a nightmare for steelbooks. They can be sold out in 10 mins so you gotta be on the ball.

I mostly look at the cost of kimchi blu and add on top the shipping. Tony will mark the value of package to what you like.

Then look at the cost of yesasia and go for free shipping, and see which cost is cheaper or near enough.

Yesasia can take 2-8 weeks for delivery. Kimchi I always choose EMS cause I can't wait for the stuff

If I can wait, like I did for sin city, I'll go yesasia cause even if I get hit by customs, they'll repay it. Customs are getting smart and stopping a few packages from korea and Taiwan, literally kimchi, k2dvd and jsdvd and then customs charging.

Yesasia carry a wide variety. They'll have korea, Japan and Taiwan stuff. If they don't stock it, you can ask them and they'll see if they can stock it. They package well in loads of bubble wrap in a poly bag. If you want it in a box, pop it in our notes and they'll do it.

The next image probably wont mean anything to anyone, but I've been collecting for a very very long time. Got addicted to steelbooks when I picked up Duel from WH Smith on a Monday night (release night), and thought this was strange. It was only available in this metal type of packaging. Things spiraled out of control and started collecting Korean DVD Digipacks with hard covers.

Only recently due to BLURAY.COM and HDN started collecting slipcovers. Before that I picked up the Batman Begins Limited Edition and totally ignored the cardboard slipped HMV exclusive of Batman Begins. Since collecting slips I've been searching long and hard to find it.

Today, I found what is my holy grail.

P.S. I've changed my way of taking photographs. Got a nice oak bench and improved lightning. Hope you like.

Thanks for taking the time with all that info buddy, that's really helpful. I've never used yesasia but I was aware of them (good to know about the customs thing - that always puts me off international orders). Was taking a browse around kimchi for the first time - couldn't find their postage costs. Is UK postage expensive?

Congrats! I love the feeling of finally getting something you've been after for aaaages. I'm such a bargain-hunter that I'm always putting off purchases, sometimes for years, until I can find the right version at the right price (in the right condition too). Back in the day, finally getting hold of stuff like the Fight Club R1 CE DVD, Science of Sleep R3 LE DVD, and Jarhead R1 CE was a religious experience!

It's annoying that this Begins slip is so rare, as it would look nice next to the TDK slip. I always keep a look out for it. Did you actually 'find' this one out in the world, or was it an eBay grab?

Yeah found on a shelf for a fiver in CEX

Kimchi charge on weight for shipping. You can create an account and add to cart and then checkout then it'll tell u charge and then cancel.

Ems ( fast) cost me between £14 - £20

Not ordered much in a while - so had a quick 3 for £17 order from Amazon last week.

Arrived today and I was surprised to see Hanna was in a slipcase.

I miss the Play sales/offers... hope there's some more from Amazon & a (revitalised) HMV soon

I hope you enjoy those 2. Silence of the Lambs is just a masterpiece. Thin Red Line is pretty good too. One of the best films about war that I've seen. I probably preferred it to Saving Private Ryan the beach-landing is just too much to get through these days. I'd probably still buy the BD if I see it though!

Probably because the last two are not directed by David Cronenberg. With Basket Case, they are all the same director

Here's what I got Thursday 18th April:

Not as much this week but another BFI Flipside title, a much welcomed Third Window release, another great Artificial Eye release, two more steelbooks, including The Sweeney from Zavvi, as they were the cheapest and I had a discount code, and it was about time I picked it up. The third in the Subspecies series also came, and I got Borderline which is one of the four or five non OOP BFI releases I don't own

When I spoke to the bloke at the Chetser Blockbuster he said the blue cross items were 10% off one blu ray, 20% of two and so on until you get up to 5 where you get 50% off, not a bad deal either way.
