On a side note. Both trailers and the alt opening are in HD.
Sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but all of the extras for "Exorcist II" and "III" are 480i. This can easily be confirmed with BDInfo or any software player that provides a readout of the resolution. It is also consistent with Warner's standard practice when it comes to extras for catalog titles. They almost never go back and redo them for HD.

In case anyone is wondering, I am measuring the resolution on my own copies of the discs.

People have always been way too hard on Exorcist II. I am too, during the Regan possession scene at the end.

I saw a print of THE EXORCIST III earlier this year and it only had the Morgan Creek logo.

The 40th anniversary edition has the same original disc. The same that is on this set. The only new extra is on a separate disc, exclusive to the set.

Ah ok. I'm only really interested in the 20 min interview about exorcism. Shane I'm going to have to buy the movie and have 3 copies of it just for that! Might wait until it's in on sale for $10.

Yes, the original cbs/fox VHS had the 20th century fox logo just like the theatrical film.

I would love to see some photos from the individual release of Exorcist II. I want to see the back of the cover.
Regan's Theme plays on the menu? On the dvd edition the song plays on the main menu (below).

Sorry I should have asked about the film transfer first so you wouldn't get flustered. But honestly it is WB I never doubted it would be a bad job I bet it is a 25GB disc and the movie Prob takes up about 22GB tops with an AVG but rate of something below 20 haha but all joking aside Id bet II will look better then III but I could be wrong.

BD-25s for all four newly released films. 20.96 Mbps average bitrate for II; 19.40 Mbps for III. Except for the ARs on the prequels, which I haven't measured yet, stats for all the discs are filled in.

Forgive the few of is that like some logo nostalgia. it isn't as if this thread hasn't been hit with huge compalints or bickering. people sharing info about these two movies and the discussion pertained to the films. feel free to ignore those whose comments fluster you.

Be careful what you wish for as anything is possible. Look what happened to Rhino after it was sold to WB. Richard Foos, one of the original principle owners of Rhino, then went on to form Shout Factory. If they sell again the same vicious cycle will start all over again.

Anyone here has the individual edition for The Heretic in hands? I'm asking 'cause someone posted a picture of the new box, so I would like to know if someone could post a pic from the individual edition, I would like to see the back of the cover.

I'm still a fan of the film, especially the ending. It's spectacular. The idea that they recreated/built an entire portion of the Georgetown Washington Street and stairs, and house is incredible. Technically it amazing how the destruction of the house was filmed live - all of it inside a studio with no miniatures. Today it all would have been done as CG - that didn't exist then.
Not to mention a huge amount of real locusts (mixed with a small amount of fade ones for long shots to fill in the swarm.)

It would have mattered even it III had actually been released in stead of II after the original - it still wouldn't have been what the audience of the day wanted - more shocks and masturbation. The first set up a standard and can never been fulfilled - especially only 4 years after the initial release.

It's like Halloween III after II, a very different film with only the holiday to connect it.
THE HERETIC was meant to be different and part of that was to not challenge the first - which never could be done.
III had on its side being based on a bestselling book - yet bombed anyway proving that nothing would, or could measure up to the first. I was simply a phenomenon.
Having seen all the film in the theater (except DOMINION) I say each has it own special meaning, and entertaining thrill.

Film integrity. The studio logo is part of the movie and most times set the mood. Its also a nostalgic thing.

The opening of the Exorcist doesnt have the same feel with the new logo. Of course the movie is the same.

So we've had comments about Logos, Packaging, merit of the films...like others have said, can someone who has them tell us what the picture quality is like? Does EXORCIST III have the original surround track or just the disappointing remixed 5.1 job?
