We already know AnimEigo will be discussing their Kickstarter for Macross II. I wonder if Discotek or another licensor will be making any Macross-related announcements.

Just my theory on why they haven't released these yet. Harmony Gold is re-editing all the Macross series to fit into new robotech stories then they will release them all. I really hope they aren't doing that.

We're terrified they'll roll the newer shows into the Robotech continuity.

No. For all intents and purposes, HG is essentially defunct, with the demise of Frank Agrama. They will continue to merch the shit out of the Robotech brand for the next decade or so and collect whatever $$$ is contracted to them from the likely releases of Macross, SC, and GCM on Blu-Ray, but they will certainly have nothing to do with the release of the other Macross stuff or attempt any Robotechnizing of such content.

I'm still amazed that HG didn't negotiate themselves access to the JP Macross masters for the Robotech blu rays. You'd have thought that there would have been a deal there to be made while HG and BW were mutually celebrating their reconciliation of sorts.

Think we got into this before and concluded that HG couldn't be bothered with the effort and phoned it in instead. F*ckwits.

HG's media facilities were long-gone by the time they would have gotten access to HD source files. They were sold off in the early 2000's, after Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles was made, because Frank Agrama had gotten himself into fraud/tax evasion troubles in Italy and everything that couldn't provide ongoing money was liquidated to cover legal expenses and his lifestyle, as his many millions were stored overseas and seized by the authorities, freezing his access for quite a few years.

Interesting. Perhaps that's the reason why. Wonder why they chose Otakon instead of AX? Also wondering if Kawamori will show up.

It should be available for licensing, although it's the one title that Big West has the rights to that hasn't been announced for a release yet. They wouldn't be advertising it on that tweet otherwise. The previous poster is referring to the original series which HG still has the rights to, as well as DYRL which isn't handled by Big West.

Interesting to see Flashback 2012 in there, though; I thought that was bound up with SDF Macross and Do You Remember Love. Not sure how that would be released on its own.
