SBS? Is that Australia? I wonder if any US providers are carrying it. Unfortunately I think most here no longer offer 3D movies. I've heard such good things but I missed 3D in theaters. I'd love to see it any way I could.

SBS means side-by-side, which is how the film can be seen on Virgin Media in the UK. Of course, pirates have now ripped it in that format and put it out for free on the internet.

Paramount are real dummies for not releasing this on 3D Blu-ray.

No to stray too far into the technical weeds, but is SBS how a U.S. market 3D tv presents the 3D BR discs we buy?

Oh boy, we get to screw Paramount again. Now, everybody sing with me, "and it feels so good...."

You just can't keep a good man down.

No - it's quite different.

Side By Side is lower resolution.

The sad thing is that Paramount are screwing themselves.

People would pay them to buy this on 3D Blu-ray but they just can't be bothered any more, it's crazy that they would rather not have the money than make the effort.

"Motion seats" move the seat in various axes. They typically require motion coding to match the film. Yes, I know that some models have a synthesize motion based on the film. See https://www.d-box.com There are motors the move the seats up/down, left/right/whatever.

I was at a home theater show and rode the D-Box motion seats to the movie I. Robot. The crash in the tunnel was insane with the motion seat.

4d seems to take this to another level.

Oh, in that case... No thanks. Those things (like the DisneyWorld rides where you move "supposedly in sync" with the 3D movie), don't sit well with me. I have a feeling I would be sick as a dog with motion seats as well.

I'm going to be careful what I say here as I know this is dodgy ground but there is a side by side 3D version out there on disc. The resolution is probably slightly less than DVD quality but it exists. I haven't watched the whole disc, I gave it a spin and the 3D is obviously great, just like it was in the cinema. It really sucks that a higher resolution 3D version cannot be obtained, but seeing as there is literally no retail version, this will have to do.

If it's on the torrent sites for free, there's always someone who will burn it to a disc and sell it to people who can't download it themselves.

The lesson to Paramount is to release their 3D movies on 3D Blu-ray and not leave all the profit to pirates.

a staggering concept, but one that they all seem to be ignoring sadly

everytime a mi6, predator, nutcracker is non 3d blu ray i think

"shall i buy it....nah its £15 and it will be on now tv or netflix in 3 months anyway"

if its 3D
pre ordered or 9am monday to hmv to buy

even if 3d fans are in small numbers, i cant see how the cost of a small pressing of discs isnt financially viable

The one I saw available is a custom which uses the Nordic 2d Bluray for the right side and SBS for the left side.

I started collecting 3D blurays, and I am trying to get my hands on very 3D movie there is. It bothers me when a 3D movie does not get a 3D bluray release even if imported. I have over 300 movies already and bought 3 3D tV's just for back up. I would love to see this on 3D but I'm in the US so I can't order it through Virgin. I looked on the Internet for this supposed torrent but everthing I found was 2d which I don't care for.

I don't really care for Piracy since I want to get the best quality possible, nor do I condone it. But when something like this happens they leave you no choice.

Vudu is apparently offering Hotel Transylvania 3 in 3D streaming now according to their thread only as a combo 2D/3D pack for $25) which no one else legally has. Maybe they will take up some of the slack from Hollywood. Still no MI:Fallout in 3D from them, though.

Mind PMing me where you saw that? Wondering how that would work, would that cause eye strain if one eye has better quality than the other?

Yes the fairly recent VUDU 2/3D combo "Bundle & Save" options are:

Jumanji
Rampage
Ready Player One
The Meg
Smallfoot
Hotel Transylvania 3
Venom
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
Aquaman

All of the above range from $20 to $25 to purchase. The best way to find them on VUDU is to go to the VUDU.com web site using a browser. Select "Movies" from the top blue bar, then click the green "Filters" box, and finally (from the "Filters" options which pop up) select "3D" under the "Features". You can then select to sort them in a variety of ways.

I have made a few VUDU 3D Streaming purchases and they are very good but, in my opinion, not quite as good as the 3D Blu-ray.

Please pardon my ignorance. Is VUDU a site that sells streaming only or do they offer blu-ray discs for sale as well?
