1. It's an actor he's always wanted to work with
2. They will share a very tense scene

It leads me to believe that it might be a villain, and to me, that points to Ian Mckellen as Magneto.

Patrick Stewart showing up as Professor X would be huge also. But those are the only 2 guys that i can see being the equivalent as a "Luke Skywalker in Mandalorian" type moment.

If Stewart shows as professor X I will blow a serious nut in my pants. Mods can suspend me fo rmy comment if they want but ill never take it back.

I am really wishing that Olsen had never commented about the "Luke Skywalker-like reveal". If you go back to the original quote, I think it was actually a leading question - is "is there a Luke Skywalker like reveal?" it wasn't just a comparison she brought up herself out of nowhere (someone correct me if I am wrong).

And of course, with so little to write about in pop culture land right now, it spreads like wildfire from sites reporting it as big "news". And now there are huge expectations, etc.

It's fun to speculate, and they certainly have blown open some doors here with this past episode, but I just hope fandom doesn't have a meltdown if it doesn't truly hit "Luke Skywalker" levels - I mean, grown men openly (and proudly!) weeping - that's a tall ass order.

Pretty sure he recently stated he wasn't coming back to the role as he felt Logan was a fitting ending. Of course...when it comes to stuff like this, celebs lie.

If it is indeed another actor from Fox's X-Men, and it could be either Magneto or Xavier, why is everybody assuming that it has to be either Ian McKellan or Patrick Stewart, when it could just as well be Michael Fassbender or James McAvoy?

Or has Paul Bettany worked with Fassbender or McAvoy before?
