I thought it was a great episode. Aside from his eyes, which are quite distracting (even if they are true to Rebels), I think Ezra is quite faithful to the original characterization. I think Eman did a terrific job bringing him to life while also instilling a bit more maturity from his time away. Some of the vocal inflections are just like Taylor Grey's from Rebels.
I also quite liked how he chose not to go for the lightsaber. It shows how much he's grown and how more tuned into the Force he is. Didn't really like him using the blaster later on, but it's a small nit. Loved the stuff with Baylon and Shin too, but man is it bittersweet. Unless something changes in the finale, it seems pretty clear that there were/are bigger plans for the characters, and now with Ray gone, it'll never see its original intended conclusion. I was worried they were going to kill Shin this episode, but glad to see she made it. I was thinking that getting thrown under the bus by Baylon and then abandoned by the troopers would disillusion her to their cause a little, but maybe not. Assuming they both survive the finale, I wonder if Dave is going to rework their future storylines to have Shin take on the mission that Baylon is on, or if they'll just recast the role. That cameo was great as well, and reinforces more and more that they'll almost have to bring in more legacy characters as Thrawn returns and causes havoc. I can't imagine Luke not getting involved at all, and it would be great to see more Leia, especially if it means we get to see her use her saber. Assuming she'd even want to, it would be the perfect excuse to bring Billie Lourd back as Leia to continue the character. Really excited for the finale next week. I'd bet good money it's going to end on a cliffhanger- probably Thrawn getting back to the OG galaxy and wrecking a Rebel fleet (my money is on the one we saw earlier in the season giving Teva a hard time). Whatever happens, I'll be eagerly awaiting it. |

Methinks, too. Gonna go out on a limb and surmise we're gonna see him chatting it up with the goons from Mando Season 3 by the end of this run...
Hey, fellas, Leia didn't have to form an entire new rebellion for no reason...I haven't read the pre-ST books, but sure seems like Filoni and Favreau are trying to fill in some timeline gaps...as for why the First Order vaporized the New Republic when it seems like the New Republic is already kinda nerfed, I leave to you guys to fill me in. |

can we just rename the series "Sabine" instead of "Ahsoka", cuz that's who the show seems to be about.
also, I think Ray Stevenson checked out early simply from the crushing weight of carrying this show on his shoulders |

yes it was an animated Disney channel show, ran for two seasons, forty episodes. Takes place before The Force Awakens. I gave it about four or five episodes before giving up, although it was created and developed by Filoni, it just didn't meet the high bar set by Rebels and Clone Wars. I don't think he had attachment to the sequel trilogy and characters like he did for the original trilogy and his characters he created for Rebels and Clone Wars. But it does look like he is mining from every era for little details to use in Ahsoka.

Filoni created Resistance but he wasn’t the showrunner. Resistance was ok but it was mainly for young children. It was more of a comedy. Kaz, the main character and son of Senator Xiono was a clumsy goofy dork a lot of the time. It had a lot of slapstick comedy. While I enjoyed it it’s not really necessary.

The main problem I have with this show, other than Thrawn having a belly, is that I honestly feel the 7 episodes we have gotten so far could have been condensed into 3/4. It has fun moments but could be a lot tighter. After next weeks episode it’ll feel like not all that much happened of the course of 8 full episodes. Idk. Maybe it’s just me.

Almost all the Disney Star Wars shows have this problem. Everything is so drawn out. The only exception is Mando Season 1 & 2. |

I bet he's one of those pseudo-smartasses who says things like they're sick at being told that the Imperials were the bad guys. Or that the Empire was evil.

What really makes Ahsoka drag, is the dialogue. It's so stiff, slow and some characters can't deliver their lines with any hint of emotion behind their words. It feels as if Filoni used ChatGPT to write the dialogue in this show.
Skoll and Hati are the only characters that seem to avoid the above. And I still have no idea why the character of Hera Syndulla is in this show, seeing that Filoni has nothing for the character to do. But she's a fan favorite, so she's stuffed in there none the less in the most boring and lifeless scenes of the entire series so far. On another note, the cinematography, sound design and visual effects are fairly good; it keeps me engaged. Does the live action versions of Ahsoka, Sabine, Hera, Thrawn, Anakin make me want to watch the animated shows? No. The characters are just too lifeless and boring for me. |
