Paramount picks this title to start playing games?
I buy lots of older titles, but I'm getting more reluctant to buy newer titles unless it is stuff like The Northman, The Batman or whatever. I think are hoping that people like me will the digital and get the disc 2 months later. I'm getting to the point to where I want to see the entertainment biz collapse so that they will pay for this crap that they do. |

Is it POSSIBLE that what you're suggesting is happening? Sure. Anything is possible. However, there's no reason to think it's probable just because they don't know how to properly word their press releases. See The Godfather. Paramount doesn't have the best track record when it comes to clear press releases. |

If the press release were what you think it was, it would have said "The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray includes access to a Digital copy of the film that includes....etc." Instead, it says "AS WELL AS..." I agree that it's poorly phrased but I have no faith in the people that put these things together. |

The fact that it's not coming till November and that it won't have a standard Bluray copy of the movie included are slightly disappointing, but I think the fact that it will have the expanding ratios for the IMAX scenes should more than make up for that. If it really is 1.78:1 like Bill Hunt says instead of the theatrical IMAX ratio of 1.90:1, that will be totally awesome.

Wow Paramount went al out with these extras lol. They’re okay, but they couldn’t even do audio commentary. Regardless I’m hyped to see this at home in November.

Super happy to hear of switching aspect ratios. Bummed that we have to wait another 2.5 months for physical. |

Although I usually watch the 4K Blu-ray, I don't like the fact that the regular Blu-ray isn't included. It's not like a DVD, the Blu-ray release still holds up very well. I hope this doesn't become a trend for Paramount and their future releases like the Mission Impossible movies.
Call me crazy, but I would have been fine with 4K/Blu-ray combo instead of the 4K/Digital release. It's just one movie, a major success for Paramount, so they may want to make as much money from it is as they can. |
