How you feel about Candyman or anything else isn’t relevant. I’m saying it’s only been 5 years since Blood Wars and Kate’s ass is still top top. Give it another 5-7 years and she’ll have forgotten how uncomfortable the outfit is and looking for another paycheck. Studios always return to franchises eventually, they’ll be more than happy to make a sequel (so they can sell a movie box set) or a reboot, whatever pitch they get first. If she’s not willing when they are ready, they’ll find a new Selene.

And if not, Underworld is far from the first franchise with no satisfying ending(Phantasm). Sometimes it’s about the journey, not the ending as Stephen King says . Like any of that or not, it’s what is.

New Resident Evil movie looks great.

I wouldn't call Blood Wars an unsatisfying end, it wrapped it up in a way that basically closed that chapter without ending the whole story... it wasn't great, but not totally unsatisfying. If they had ended it on Awakening then yes. And this year, Kate Beckinsale has said she's not opposed to doing another movie. We need one where Michael comes back and it's Scott Speedman,

[Show spoiler]since Selene sees Marius "kill" him but we all know he can die and come back to life.

There has also a TV show spinoff in development since 2017, but not focusing on Selene and would focus on other characters, which at this point wouldn't have a huge list to choose from since the movies have such a high body count.

We def need Speedman back in the franchise with Kate. It hasn't been the same since he left. Evo ended on a high note with Selene becoming a day-walker and Michael resurrecting himself. The story needs to go back to them being together and basing a plot around that going forward. I guess the daughter character needs to return as well, though i never liked that character. It didn't feel right for her to exist without Michael around. As for a tv show, if it's not about Selene i won't watch it most likely.

^ I will give you that, it was connected to the original film. Just not with Todd's character himself. It was instead a candyman that was the embodiment of all lynchings. It felt off without Daniel Robitaille's candyman though. Todd was instead reduced to a cameo at the end. The film suffered without Todd's presence imo. I don't want to derail this thread anymore though, so i will drop it.

Man, Evolution is a lot of fun to re-watch and it's pretty much made to be watched back-to-back with the first Underworld. I just think of Len Wiseman's first two films as one long film.

And I've got to say, for me, Selene/Kate just might be the coolest vampire in film history.

Sorry, Dracula, Nosferatu, and Blade, but you guys are juuust behind her!

Hopefully, she comes back for another film to at least wrap up her story.

The word font on the spines don't match up though. They are all at different positions and that drives me crazy. Especially the first film. I get that it doesn't have a long title like the sequels, but they should have lined it up to match the others in position. ROTL and Awakening are the only 2 that line up. Freaking dumb and lazy.

The box doesn't need anything written on it because you already should know what it is. I know what the Underworld boxset just by looking at it. The Resident Evil boxset doesn't have the name on the spine either, and I still now what it is because of their different, distinguished box design and color scheme. When I look at the Underworld boxset, I know it's not Resident Evil or any other boxset. It's call a photographic memory.

That's how I view them, too. They flow with each other so well, and are so damn fun. The ending battle in Evolution I think is my favorite action set-piece in the franchise.

Instead of wasting time on that dumb prequel, they should have made a third Underworld with Kate and Scott that picked up immediately after Evolution and just closed it up as a trilogy but leaving the door open for another trilogy involving their offspring. I was initially disappointed with the direction Awakening went, but it worked overall and would have been a much more satisfying ending had Speedman showed up just to give him (better) closure.

What Blood Wars did was "tell" rather than "show" its more intriguing aspects. Not showing the Sacred World or having a proper send-off for Michael were its biggest faults. Of the Selene-centric films, that is the weakest.

Watched Underworld Evolution last night and after enjoying the heck out of the first film I thought the second was a bit of a slog. One too many scenes where they stop the movie to explain shit and it already feels like the mythology they established in the first film was being ignored/re-written just to serve this film, this series is a bit like Transformers in that respect: supposed to be connected but each one just takes a steaming dump on what was established in the previous film. I know, I'm ignoring my own advice by taking these silly movies so seriously, but Evolution didn't quite work for me this time around.
