The CMs would be a great choice. Personally, I love their aesthetics - I assume you've asked btf1980 about his own CMs?
Pro-Ject and Rega is where I am looking as well. I am in a better spot, as I own many records already. It has been my preferred media format since a young age. Just something about the packaging, the process, and definitely the sound. I have removed my turntable from my setup, as I felt it too cluttered with it until I get a new stand. I still hook it up on the whim though. I can't wait to get a better quality deck though, it will be a permanent fixture in the setup.

Pro-ject will be my next turntable for my bedroom. I just got an Elac Miracord 45 turntable yesterday for the living room. The vinyl collection is what I need to now start growing.

See, I feel as if getting a turntable at this point would be just for show. I use my SACD player once a week, as it is. So having a turntable without any media - I don't know. If I could get my hands on a decent amount of records of music that I like, then alright, I can justify it. But for now, it's nothing I urgently need.

i was thinking about sacd but if i got into that id probably get an oppo bd player which seems redundant with a perfectly good ps3 in my system. that & i dont see alot of sacds around locally. my blu-ray audio disks have me fiending for music that sounds better than ripped cds on my ps3. plus ive got a dozen or so albums lying around for starters.

Well, I bought meself a pair of SACDs, the new Emo XPA-3, a new 60" stand, new rugs, and an ottoman to replace my coffee table.

What's next, you guys think?

Dipole rears?

A new subwoofer?

I thought about a new BD-player, but with that new 3D spec due to be out soon, I don't think I'm able to justify it just yet.

LOL I think you’ve outdone yourself. Nice assorted range of lighting colours yummy. B&W is an excellent choice. Nice posters as well.

Merry Christmas

I've been thinking SVS Cylinder to replace the Dynamo, and put the Dynamo where the AA 12 is right now...::schemes::

Lou, I've been catatonic on the upgrade front since April until now. I feel the sudden urge to splurge, kind of like how I've bought 15 BRs in the past month, when I bought 15 from Jun-mid-Nov.

I totally understand! I get that way every Tuesday when the new releases are available.

J/K... I probably won't be making any big purchases for quite a while into 2010. I'm not sure what I want/need right now. Maybe a new pre/pro, but it will REALLY need to kick a$$ to take the place of my Denon, which I love!

It never ends!

But this new BD-player spec, the 3D 1.4 HDMI one, is making me reconsider an Oppo - maybe something with faster loading times than my Panasonic 35, perhaps the Sony N460.

We'll see, we'll see. Just waiting to get everything set up and such.

Edit: Especially now, as my 35 just refused to play its first movie. Inglourious Basterds.

Aaaaaaaaaaand they should've never told me I could sell my DV-48 and my DMP-BD35 and get an Oppo. *(#*&@$$@#

^Yes, that. You would love it.

Ahh, you guys, lol. I need a new stand alone first, and it looks like the Sony N460 is the one I'll pick up within month's end.

Sidebar - I heard this from d_m, and I'm thinking I'm going to put it next to my gear as well:

JJ I am curious as to why you would choose buying a N460. It's basically a stripped down PS3. The only worthwhile service it has that the PS3 doesn't (for now) is the Amazon streaming service. Same scaler, same bluray tech, same XMB, same company, no gaming, plus you already own a PS3.

I am in no way knocking your choice, just curious why.

I don't use my PS3 for Blu-rays, just as a media center and for the occasional game.

I always prefer a stand alone - and for that EXACT reason that you mentioned, I'd love to go with the 460.

Plus, who doesn't like those bitstream lights!

Good choice. My S350 has been rock solid!
