The Double Dino Logo stays, this isn't for the average consumer, a true Jurassic Park fan will get it and see the difference and its more unique as a trilogy than just one dino.

Way too dark and over saturated. I figure you were going for an old, ww2 look, but I think you went overboard and it doesn't look great.
OMG your so rude, Im so leaving this forum! Hahaha - not everyone will like it or my style, I accept that, but it looks amazing printed out. In the case its very rich and actually very bold colors.

Jurassic Park:
I see you went with a leather texture. My favourite.
The OSHA stripes are a nice touch, and is a design element from the film. I always like stuff like that. (Warning! Don't open this case! DNR-ed Dinos inside!)

You tried something new with combining the Rex and Spino skeletons. It's a good idea, but they are just too similar to read like two different dinosaurs. Designers like us get it, we know the original emblems, but to the layman I think the combined graphic is unreadable. Maybe if you included more of the torsos of each, but then the whole graphic has to be bigger.
Appreciate what your saying, but like I stated above, the true fan will get it, and that's really why I did it that way.

It may just be the preview, but the cover looks a little drab. Maybe increase the intensity of the red (or maybe just the blacks), or pick a stronger background tone that gives it just that little extra punch. I see you even desaturated the no-copy logo on the back, ha ha.
It does print bolder and stronger colors, I think its just the cover maker that washed it out by adding highlights to the cover for the 3D effect.

I like the way you solved the info for the three films on the back. I am struggling with getting my own trilogy cover off the ground. The front and everything is finished, but the back is killing me.
The watermark on the back is also a nice touch.
It took about 20 variations and trials before I finally came up with the simplicity of not going to overboard with the back.

Captain America:
Don't change a thing. The oil-painting look is gorgeous. If I were to nitpick, the images on the back could just as well be in slightly muted colours instead of all sepia. I don't think it would ruin the impression you are going for.
I thought about doing muted colors, but it just didn't look right trying to replicate photos from the 40's that didn't have color photos in that time.

What's with all the white sparklies? Is it snow? Embers? I haven't seen the film yet, so it may make perfect sense once I do.
Its embers, since everything pretty much blows up in the movie lol

technically it is also Jurassic Park 2 - Quote from database: The Lost World: Jurassic Park (also known as Jurassic Park II: The Lost World or just Jurassic Park II) The II just looked better on the back preceding III

Thanks. Those are Australian newspaper ads pasted in there.

Hmm... I was expecting feedback to be a little more harsh for this Nightmare cover. Come on, people. Don't hold back. I want this to be perfect, and my deadline is Nov. 15th.

Okay, I'll critique myself then:
  • It's too dark!
  • The brick wall thing's been done!
  • What's a DTHD logo doing on there??!!
  • That's not the "official" Elm Street font on the back and spine, you hack!
  • Why no mention of "2" and "3" in the titles???
  • Don't give up your day-job!

To answer all my detractors: I'm sorry. I did my best. These are hard covers to put together. I'll fix that DTHD logo but that's it.

The Lost World is as known by 'true' JP fans as Jurassic Park II the way The Dark Knight is known by 'true' Batman fans as Batman Begins II. You obviously didn't post for anyone to critique as the true JP fans will all disslike the ugly double dino logo and incorrect title.

I am sorry but this statement is completely false, The Dark Knight is The Dark Knight.

"True" fans of these films, and fans of film in general, would never call them what you claim they would call them. I myself have never, ever heard anyone call that film "Batman Begins II." Never. I'd actually make the argument that anyone referring to those films with those ridiculous titles aren't true fans of anything involved with the films. Kinda the same way casual LOTR fans refer to the films as Lord of the rings 2, 3 etc. These films have names, and claiming a "true " fan of Batman calls TDK "Batman Begins II" is silly.

Of course your post could be sarcasm, in which case disregard the above.

Please read FC4L's post again.
You will surely understand the true meaning of his sentence.

English is not my native language and I still understand it.

He only says that calling Jurassic Pak: The Lost World = Jurassic Park II would be as wrong as calling Batman The Dark Knight = Batman Begins II!

Do you get it now?

Hey DV8, any chance you could make vortex sized version of these and make a deathly hallows part 2?

Not bad, but my first advice would be to replace the full title on the spine with a simpler "HP", or maybe just use the full logo for each one, shrunk down and flipped 90 degrees. Nice texture, though.

Got a number of pots on the fire at the moment but still working on that "High Road to China" custom cover. The number of stills out there is severly lacking so I pulled out a 1983 movie magazine for "High Road to China" last night and scanned some of the pictures:

I consider myself a true JP fan and i wouldn't dream of refering to The Lost World as Jurassic Park II, because that's not its name.

It is called The Lost World - Jurassic Park.

And i've never in my life heard anyone say Batman Begins II.
