It's all a massive conspiracy. The SEC really isn't the best conference despite every poll, computer ranking, strength of schedule rating or even Vegas saying they are clearly the best. Why? Because some dude on a sports forums just "knows" it's overrated.

Notre Dame could play Alabama, Florida or Georgia in the national title game and according to Vegas projections they'd be an underdog against any of them. If it's Alabama vs. Norte Dame the Tide would be about a 12 point favorite. It's it's Florida or Georgia vs. Notre Dame the Irish would be about a 3 point underdog.

sure, all kinds of rankings mistakes are made at preseason and early season polls. we are at the end of the regular season, the pretenders and contenders have been revealed. the BCS, AP, and coaches all disagree with you, the all knowing Terjyn. send in your resume to the NCAA, they need you to figure this mess out.

Yes, an 8 team playoff is ideal. But we're not getting that for at least a decade or more. We're getting a 4 team playoff. Why would you think a 4 team playoff would create any less controversy than a 2 team playoff? Good luck trying to choose a "final four" in a season like this one.

FFS, I'm not saying the SEC is overrated.

I'm saying I don't know. You don't know. Experts don't know. Computers sure as hell don't know.

But people TALK like they know. It's WHY the BCS is such crap.

God I'm sick of sports fans who all "know" everything. I guess they don't even need to play a season anymore. Just let the SEC duke it out, and they can tell us who the National Champion is. After all the computers, the experts, Vegas, and you guys all just "know" the SEC is the best.

IF I ask for a reason they are the best, you point at the computers, the experts, Vegas, and other guys just like you. What you don't point at is results on the field. THAT's WHAT I'M AGAINST.

That's why preseason polls are crap. I agree with you there. I'd be happy to see no polls done before at least week 4 or 5.

Exactly. The Final four isn't good enough, and I'm sure the "BCS" will still be deciding the final four.

I think they should be going to at least 16 personally. And I won't get my wish.

Supposedly it's some sort of panel or committee who will determine the four playoff teams. I'm still very suspicious as to how that will work and what criteria they'll use. IMO 8 teams is enough. When you get to 16 the field starts getting watered down a bit. The regular season should matter, just not as much as it currently does.

The panel includes me, Nick Saban, Les Miles, and Lane Kiffin. Rest assured it will be a totally unbiased panel that will be far better than the BCS.

Let me re-iterate.

I'm not anti-SEC.

I'm anti-BCS. And the problem is, right now, due to history, the SEC is being favored by the "Experts". And, ultimately, the "Experts" drive the BCS. Even the computers are fed as inputs how good teams are believed to be.

The "Experts" also drive Vegas, because most people don't bet based on what they believe, they bet based on the same "Experts".

Ultimately, all the "proof" that the BCS is right goes to two things. History, and the "Experts" pre-season.

I'd feel the same way if any conference was felt to be this dominant. All I have to do is look at Texas A&M, who was mocked as "just a Big 12 team" and then has done what they've done.

I'd go to 16 because of a year like this one. You believe 6 teams from the SEC are that great? Awesome, let them prove it, without arbitrarily eliminating all but 2 teams from other conferences.
