How about we move away from this scoffing mentality that is very evident by several members. It’s one thing making thoughts about members apparent, it’s another turning the screw. Wonder how many (imo) jumped up members on here would say anything to one’s face? Not many I’m guessing.

By the way, I’m talking generally not about you.

I am sure I have a few of my own personally it would be interesting see a list of all the outrageous things people have said over the last 400 pages.

This thread just happens to have a few the end is nigh doomsday tin hat people.

I'm too modest to list my own greatest hits. And too myopic to see many of my own faults. But I do listen.

If I say outrageous things, I expect to be called out for it. If I repeat the same outrageous thing constantly, I expect to be for it.

I post a lot, but I sure hope it isn't keyboard If it is, I will try to offer those affected a curative anecdote.

If I am being too harsh on dear anchovy21, I will make an effort to be less salty.

I have learned quite a bit from our digital friends on this thread. I have made two major changes to my routine as a result. I now have Netflix and I have a Movies Anywhere account with 96 films in it. I don't use the former very often and I have yet to watch anything with the latter, but these are still changes to how I access content.

I like learning new things and that does not happen in a glad-handing echo chamber where everyone applauds each other for thinking the same as they do. Where I need educating, please, by all means, wise me up.

I used six emojis; I think that is a record for me!

Yea this won't happen.

Apple is the only company stingy enough to lock their content to their devices.

Amazon and Disney let their apps/content appear on all devices.

People with roku/amazon/google TV's don't have to use that software, they can still buy whichever STB they like. (like whipnet said all they need is a HDMI port)

I'm getting a little deja vu feeling here. Because we've talked about this before and it is called a preference. What works for you may not work for someone else. Flip it around and you've pretty much got my formula for viewing. I pick up what I know we're going to watch more than once and use Netflix BD and streaming services to determine what goes in the library on the undecided. Blind buying doesn't work for me, even if the movie has gotten enough buzz.

See, there's my problem with you in a nutshell Steedeel. You can dish, but you can't take it. You take the passive aggressive/defensive approach instead of shrugging it off when you are called on it by others. Which is sad, because we probably have a lot of common interests and would probably get along in the real world. I can't speak for anyone else here, but how I am here is how I am there. I was brought up to walk the walk and not just talk the talk. So I won't say something about someone that I won't say to their face.

He just called me a tin hat, what do you want me to do? If you (folk) are going to try to do that, I will retaliate.

Retaliate? Aren't you fierce!

I would respond to that oh-so grievous "tin hat" moniker, but to retaliate seems to be a rather excessive escalation; it suggests a fragile ego.

You're not that delicate, are you? If so, I will try to tippy-toe around you lest I cause you undue upset and disturb your digestion.

How so? Would you be ok with someone walking up to you in the street and calling you a paranoid nut Job?

I have been called far, far worse and I have managed to keep calm because I know myself well enough, and I like myself enough, to not be so easily upset by the remarks of people who do not actually know me.

There is a huge difference between criticizing a comment and criticizing the entirety of a person.

I think many of your predictions are, let's say, inaccurate, even unfounded. It is your predictions that I am criticizing, sometimes lampooning, but not you. I do not know you.

Look at the grief I, and others, give anchovy21; do you see him getting upset about it? If he can handle the ribbing, you should be able to as well, especially as you like to poke plenty of fun yourself.

Thus, I say respond, not retaliate. No need to take anything here so personally. Know thyself and be comforted by that knowledge and you will not be so easily offended.

I never called you a tin hat person I said some people on this thread have a tin hat mind set and you decided all on your own that that described you to a Tee.

I never labeled you. You did that all on your own. It reminds me of the saying "The lady doth protest too much, methinks." the mis quote "Methinks thou dost protect too much," is a bit more accurate but c'est la vie.

Come now, there are only two people on here who are accused of tin hat/foil hat stuff and you know it. Let’s not pretend here.

And only one of them takes it personally. We all know our roles at this point. So let's move on and get back on point in the thread before the mods decide to lock it down.

I’ve been gone for a few months, well damn near a year, what are the current digital vs disc stats? Has the growing usage of those android boxes caused a dent yet?

Same old really. DVD sales dropping, Blu-ray down but not by much 4K disc off to a solid start (Blu-ray might even be up YOY now after a few good weeks) Digital HD showing very small growth and Subscription dominating to say the least.
