I think if it's someones first time watching, it should be 4-6 first. You wouldn't get to experiance the surprise in Empire when we learn that Darth is
[Show spoiler]Lukes father!
(Spoilers just incase anyone reading has never seen the saga! Wouldn't want to be like Homer and blurt out the best twist in a film ever )
Ah man if there is someone here who's never seen it and ALSO doesn't know the surprise then I am jealous . If that was the case I'd watch 4-6, 1-3 .

I actually cant remember if I knew it before I saw them. All I know is that I got them on VHS in like '94/'95 I was like 6 or 7 and loved them ever since I liked the old VHS covers before the '97 special editions came along.

Anyone remember the Tazzos that were in the walkers crisps, and you could buy a binder to keep the collection in and they had exclusive Tazzos that you could only find in packets of Doritos! Thats the reasson I became addicted to Doritos I think lol

I collected them also, haha (think I got it completed too!). I use to go to the shop all the time trying to feel the packs of crisps for ones with them in, damn those were the days, hehe.

I'll be watching 4-5, then 1-3 and then finally 6 to top it all off. Never watched it this way before but it really makes sense when you think about it (one example is that you learn the twist with Darth and then you get to see the reasons why, etc).

So I think you both wil still get the cell
I'm not so sure because why would they have another item aswell as the first listing they put up saying includes film cell at a more expensive price.

I was in HMV yesterday and they have the box art for the complete and both preqeul/original trilogy on display. The prequels and originals come as a normal UK amaray case with a slip case and the complete saga is a nice sturdy case, looks to be a digistack like shown on amazon. I am happy with my US release pre-order though

They are never happy are they, have you read through the US Big Lebowski thread?

Once the reviews are up I'm waiting to laugh my arse off at the first person to say they will stick with the dvd's

Looks like the film cell isn't so limited, the US are getting it as well, however, it is exclusive to Best Buy. I'm sure other territories will also get a copy.

Yeah. Practically all online retailers are getting it, but you can only get it through preordering.

It's not a genuine film cell, merely, a copy of one.

I thought Senitype was just a generic term for a copied film frame but it's a brand like Steelbook™.

Quote:
Senitype™ is a limited edition art graphic produced from a single frame of motion picture film and includes one frame of corresponding film footage, Enter the Dragon being the first Senitype™ produced in 1996. The artwork begins with the careful selection of a single frame of film that is digitally scanned and expertly reproduced onto art paper using intricate state-of-the-art imaging and printing techniques. The film footage is an actual 35-millimeter film frame reproduced from the original motion picture negative by master film technicians.
I guess you learn something everyday. They seem to be knocking out superhero collectables at the moment, here's the link to their site.

ASDA had a little pre-order display for the Blu's today but I forgot to ask for a price.

To me, collecting senitypes is a bit pointless as they always depict a scene that was included in the final cut of the movie, and plus, they are useless to anyone.

Sure, if it was depicting a scene that wasn't in the movie, it'd be a different story, but collecting senitypes just means that you essentially buying a still image of a motion picture, that could be used on a projector if you went through all the trouble to remove it from it's card, and edit it into a film reel.

I quite liked the thing they had with the Blade Runner DVD set though. What was that called? A Motion Film Clip.

Over in the US forum there's reports that the Blu-ray will show 8% more image than the DVD's, that's almost 10% more Star Wars we've never seen before. Who needs deleted scenes?

My Full Metal Jacket dvd set has something like that in it. When I look at it now the box is all dinted and duffed up, but thats how it arrived from play.com all them years ago, something that if it happened now I would be right on the phone venting some fury!

I watched 'A New Hope' with my 3 & a 1/2 year old son today he loves Star Wars anyway and the dvd quality was'nt that bad, but all them added CGI parts stick out like dogs nuts, the Han & Jabba part I was cringing at how bad it was, and also Hans head movement in the Greedo shootout, pathetic!

Cant wait to see them parts on blu

Is there a poll for what version people are getting? I'll get the lot but probably not the whole set unless its seperate boxes, i'm not a fan of big foldy out things so i'll wait and see whats what.

Still need to get down to Tesco for the LOTR EE's tbh...
