Psh I'll have no problems with the skins using a second/3rd... Even if it's another tenard Jackson situation, his talent level is worth seeing if you can control him with rg3 shanny we could hit a homer.

Since I started watching college football around 1990 the two best teams I've seen were the 2001 Miami team and 1995 Nebraska. The 1994 Nebraska team was great too, but that team really peaked in 1995. In 1994 I did think Penn St. was a little bit better. I still think the poll voters picked Nebraska in 1994 mainly because at the time Osbourne had coached for a long time but always came up short of a national title while Paterno already had 2 national titles.

A report says Auburn has interviewed Louisville coach Charlie Strong for their head coaching job. Strong denies he has interviewed for the job and says he has a job. It could be a matter of semantics, in that Strong (or his agent) may have talked with Auburn but did not consider it an interview. Louisville became a much better job this week with the school moving to the ACC and Strong is paid well, so it may come down to whether Strong believes he'd have a better chance at winning a national title at Auburn than Louisville or if he'd rather be at a school where football is the undisputed king (in April he banned the local media from spring practices because he was mad the basketball team, which was in the Final Four, was getting more coverage than the football team). CBS Sports says Bobby Petrino is also a candidate for the job.

Georgia Tech is playing in the ACC Championship game and is 6-6, and has applied for a waiver so they can go to a bowl at 6-7 if they lose. Last year UCLA received a waiver when they lost the Pac-12 title game but apparently there is a lot of opposition to Tech getting a waiver because of a change in the rules over the summer that says a 6-7 team can only make a bowl game if there aren't 70 teams with a 6-6 or better record to fill all the bowl spots. and there are currently 70 teams with a 6-6 record (plus UConn and Pitt at 5-6 with a game left to play).

He's too short for the NFL. And he doesn't have the jumping ability of Brent Grimes to make up for it.

I don't think he could play corner he had tons of help @ LSU (although I'm not sure how much of the time he was focused), but he sure as hell could play safety. Polamalu is only an inch taller, same with Jairus Byrd, Earl Thomas, exc.

The problem is imo I don't think he is as physical as the guy's you named. I see him as a third down nickel back covering the slot receiver/punt returner.

![]() Teams like the cowboys, skins bust on picks anyway after round 1 why not waste it on someone with some massive upside. Also teams like the pats with stacks of picks have zippy problem blowing a high midround pick if need be. I'm predicting 2nd round if he has a good combine. |

Man, I miss the days when a bowl game was a reward for a very good season. To borrow from Jimmy McMillan, "There are too damn many bowls!" |

It is, but you have to be at least .500. With the 12 game season and conference championships, this is the second straight year a 6-6 team has played in their championship (UCLA last year). So, with a loss, you get a 6-7 team that needs a waiver to be bowl eligible again.
And technically, it's 6 wins with at least 5 against FBS teams. |

i heard earlier this season that......"some committee".....was thinking of changing the bowl eligibility from 6-6 to at least 5-7.
which is absolutely INSANE!!!!! where does it stop? it's like all the little kids now getting a trophy just for "being there". which is also insane. there are winners and there are losers. and losers should not get rewarded. ApolloOne is right. and i, too, miss the days of when getting a bowl game was a reward. and now, anyone with enough money can create a bowl game and invite whomever they want (more or less). i'd love it if they changed the eligibility to 7-5. it would require a winning season, not a .500 season. a winning season should be rewarded, not a mediocre season. imo, 6-6 is a mediocre season. wanna go to a bowl? win more games. |

I remember reading how at one point they wanted to raise the number of wins to 7 because these smaller bowl games actually cost the schools money to attend. GT just wants to be able to say they went bowling, I don't expect them to walk away with any profit for thier team, and possibly, they may have to pay to play.
