I'm also glad the facebook movie didn't sweep. I couldn't stand having myspace and twitter movies!
Really? Have you seen The Social Network? It's not a movie ABOUT Facebook. It's a movie about the creation of a corporation, betrayal, and deceit. It's even a bit of a courtroom drama. Its a great movie. Anyone who can't look past it because it's "The Facebook movie" is missing out. It's so much more than that.

not to get political, but Obama is half white too. It seems to be a no-no these days to acknowledge that. Like it's shameful for them to be less than 100% black.

off-topic... Halle Berry is beautiful!

I'm just tired of race being made into an issue every time I turn on the TV.

That's a great point...I stayed away from this movie for a while b/c I thought it was 'just about Facebook', but it isn't--and is filled with terrific performances all-around.

Lol. You really think he Forgot her name??!!
actually, when it first happened both my wife and i thought he forgot her name also cause it was very unnoticeable. Only after I saw his emotions and thinking about it later did I go back and see that it was a pause to try to compose himself.

So I agree that he didnt forget it, but I also see why people think it. And yes in a moment like that it could happen.

Good picks there. I'm guessing Daft Punk gets no love because all the old folks label them a "techno rave band" lol.

Did anyone else think James Franco was high as ***k last night? I know he likes to get blazed so maybe he needed to take the edge off.

I miss Freaks and Geeks.

nope, haven't seen it. I'm not on facebook, I don't "tweet." But, I do like courtroom dramas. I avoided this movie, so I never heard anything about it like what you were saying. Perhaps I'll check it out. Can anyone else confirm what Walt is saying about it?

Yes- my wife kept saying there was something wrong with him, like was he on drugs or something. He had the same half-open mouth smile and kept looking to the side that was away from Hathaway.

Oh,and Freaks and Geeks has been replaying on Directv, I think on IFC. I am finally watching them.

I greatly dislike Fincher's films but even I thought it was a very good film. It's definitely not a courtroom drama, but it is about friendship and loyalty more than anything else.

Thank you
Well that's too bad for Daft Punk. They tend not to rush to make new stuff. I'm ready to bet the next thing they'll do will be tje Tron 3 OST, if they get picked up.

James Franco seemed ... too happy and not happy at the same time lol. and WOW Anne was gorgeous :O, I remember finding her quite ugy a few years back ... I may as well start watching some movies of her :P

Its not really about facebook at all. Walt is spot on. Its about theft (the idea of facebook) lies, backstabbing, personality clashes, legal wrangling and posturing.

I couldnt care less about facebook the site, but the movie was pretty darn good.

Thanks for backing me up, Cinemach. Glad to see someone who wrote it off enjoyed it because it was more than "just the Facebook" movie.

I think you should give it a try. It's really a great movie. A lot of people wrote it off but were really surprised by how it turned out. Not to mention it's a David Fincher film, who I consider one of the masters of the craft in Hollywood. He never lets me down.

I just consider it a bit of a courtroom drama with all the scenes with the lawyers involving around the case around what Zuckerberg did. So in that sense it is a bit of a courtroom drama, at least to me.

No, I think he knew what they both knew, and WE knew:
This is a bad, bad idea, and we've still got two hours to go before we can escape it...Smile, keep it moving, and think of England winning Best Picture.

And at least Anne had experience at how to play it for comedy, but James...well, James was in Spiderman 3, he's not good at working himself out of bad, bad execution of moderately good-sounding ideas on paper.

Could not believe they spoiled True Grit in their preview clips. I was shocked.

Funny how Reznor won, seeing as how "anti establishment" he's attitude and music has always been. Then all the sudden he's decked-out in a tux on-stage. Ohhhhhh the irony!

Halle Berry is remembered for "Winning the first Black Oscar, and making a statement!"
So, every time they want to Make A Statement, they have her back on...Guess it was supposed to fit in with "Great moments from all the past shows" theme.

(And Lena Horne "paid the price"?
The 40's/50's NAACP was so insistent at putting Lena on a symbolic pedestal as "The sophisticated black image filmmakers SHOULD be making!" that they symbolically destroyed Hattie McDaniel's "evil, outdated" Oscar-winning career do to it. And I don't need to tell you what happened to Song of the South.
I'm not going to go into the same "Uh, you're black, Halle?" jokes, but turning Lena into the same "martyr" we were supposed to think Halle was did come off as a bit calculatedly PC.)

Facebook is just the catalyst for the plot
