In terms of framing and composition from the Avengers, Whedon needs to go back to school. Seriously.

Anyone who has seen Inception, Memento, and especially the Prestige and says Nolan's not a great visual storyteller is completely off their rocker.

His and Wally's Batman work is just as great, with Rises being their crowing visual achievement of the trilogy.
Oh no. It appears we have a Nolanite on our hands here, guys.

Don't insult Michael Bay by comparing him to Whedon. He may not be great with story or character but Bay is a visual auteur of the highest order.

uhhh, really?? Insomnia was pure GARBAGE, visuals were OOOOOOKKKKKKKKK, but nothing great. Prestige... visual were amazing I will agree.

DKR....worst of the trilogy.. and I disliked TDK a lot. (great crime drama, but a shite batman movie)

Dude, whatever. It doesn't take a genius to know which guy is better behind the camera if you look at their work. This isn't hard.

Bay is an ADD crack ***** when it comes to editing. man is a complete FAILURE at visuals. pretty much he pops in a crap load of CGI and a camera man who's drunk off his @ss and calls it a day.

Only joking, man. I respect both of them to be honest. I think they're both very talented and creative artists.

Firstly, you haven't seen Joss direct anything else, so your opinion on his visual style means nothing. Second, Nolan's visuals are bland and practically devoid of color. Third, Nolan is the most overrated writer working in Hollywood today. His dialogue can be quite bad and pretentious.

The composition works brilliantly in 3D. It's not 'dead space', that's how the composition is supposed to be to gauge the dimensionality.
The Batman trilogy is great and I admit that but I don't understand the blind Nolan worship.
I like Whedon,Nolan,Bay,Cameron, etc. What's the point of dissing other directors with false accusations?

You've loved almost every one of the two movies Whedon's directed?

I'd love more extras on the Nolan Batman films, but I think what we've gotten is pretty solid. Batman Begins has a great collection of informative featurettes. TDK's extras are solid, even though they tended to focus more on the technical side of things. The extras announced for TDKR sounds pretty good so far. I can't say I care about a commentary. I love a good one, but if he has no desire to record one, better nothing than a bad one.

It's because people like Jumpman are so devoid of "deep" storytelling that they think anything even remotely resembling a complex story must be good. Sometimes big and overcomplicated isn't better...it's just big and overcomplicated.

Might as well. The blu-ray is far away and we don't have much to discuss .

Yeah, no he isn't. And Bay is the last guy that goes straight CG. See his Transformers trilogy. Take out the robots and he shot the majority of those films on location. And you can tell in comparison with Avengers.

The end battle of that film, as good as it was, was completely shot mostly on set. Bay would've shot 90% of that live action and we would've noticed. It would've looked even more seamless.

You can not knock Bay on the visual side. You just can't. The dude is a master craftsman on that end.
