Do you guys buy steelbooks because you like collecting them or just because they can be rare and exclusive? It's like how can you be happy that no one else can get a copy.

Only 7 copies for a major metropolitan city. I am so glad I was following this release on this site and HD Ninja's site....whew!
There are only two Best Buy stores in San Francisco? I live in the Austin, TX area, and there are at least 8 or 9 stores within a 30 minute drive; 4 within 15 minutes.

Collecting should be about being happy finding something rare, not that others didn't find it...

For me, I like browsing through stores that sell used Blu-rays and DVDs. Finding something cool/OOP makes me happy, and I share that with other people here at BD.com. I don't approach it from the "Haha, I got it and you didn't" angle.

There's people in this thread rejoicing because they aren't making any more Zero Dark 30 SBs.

Well, that is the nature of limited exclusives. Mass produced stuff is not "special".

I'm not rejoicing but I am happy that I was able to get my 2 copies and that they are rare and will not be sold again. Makes them more of a collectable

Will Smith confirms this every time I walk into Best Buy. I acknowledge him, ask why he's wearing sunglasses inside, then move on.

(To this day, I'm not sure why they made another MIB. I seriously don't know a single person "in real life" who's seen it.)

My local store has 7.

The Dark Knight Rises, on the other hand? I counted about 60. Looks as if the other two Batman ones got sent out, as there were about 20 of each of those when I was there a couple weeks ago...

They seriously overestimated the demand for TDKR, and the longer that those things sit there, the more likely they're going to get damaged.

Yeah, that cold December day, I was one of three people waiting outside for this one. I bought two copies, one for me, and one for my sister for Christmas.

If this overstock issue is the case everywhere, I smell a drastic price cut during U&S like they did with the other two. Of which, I feel dumb for paying full-price for two of these...

There's locations that don't have any of those in stock. So don't count on any real price drop happening. I have no regrets for getting it on release day (I ordered it with in store pick up and when I arrived at the store, there was only one copy left and them 5 minutes later, it was gone so I don't regret getting it when I did).
