I'd have to rank that as the best JCVD film since the 90's.

I really wish Sony had picked this up. With Blue Fox, I fear it's going to be overlooked.

Seeing Double Team in the theater was a highlight of the 90s for me.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking too. I mean, if JCVD didn’t come out, I’d def say it was his best since his peak days.

Wound up spending another $10 on Amazon to buy The Bouncer since the ITunes purchase doesn’t link to movie anywhere. At least, now I can watch it in HD on my TV. Second time around was even better since my first viewing was on a phone.

Haven’t checked it out but on the dubbed US trailer, it’s clearly his voice.

Thanks. Just curious, what does the title card of the iTunes & amazon version say? Lukas or The Bouncer?

The Bouncer. Good title but I still prefer Lukas.

Thanks. Yes, me too. Especially since it's such a personal character driven movie.

Gonna watch the original 87min. version later. Let's see how it compares to the extended version (94min.)

Seen both versions of The Bouncer now and I honestly have to say I don't think I prefer one version over the other. The original cut is a bit more fast paced, especially in the first 30 minutes of the film, since many shots and some dialog bits have been trimmed. But the movie still has the same impact and feel in both versions imo. It's also still slow paced, even in the shorter original version. Still loved the movie. I might even think this has its place in my Van Damme Top 10.

BTW: this makes an awesome double feature with The Wrestler (2008).

Hmm... I don't think I've ever ranked my favorite JCVD films before:

1. Hard Target
2. Double Impact
3. Universal Soldier
4. Bloodsport
5. Timecop
6. Kickboxer
7. Maximum Risk
8. Cyborg
9. The Bouncer
10. JCVD

Since he's not the main star, I didn't include Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning.

My list would be pretty damn close to yours. I may have to bump Maximum Risk(even though I really enjoyed it), to make room for Sudden Death. The Bouncer is an easy top 10 pick. Already watched it 3 times.

Bloodsport will always be my favorite Van Damme flick, why the hell haven't we gotten some kind of special edition?!
