That sucks. Guess the only real movie pass already was long in service, theater hopping

Well then... evidently, personal experience would not have been useful at all.

Then I think I'll pull the plug after I use it to see Infinity War (didn't use MP to see it the first time).

Very true. I was very worried how they would handle this, especially with the pressure of the 10 year anniversary, delivering a worthy villain, high expectations, etc. And they delivered. Once I saw Winter Soldier and Civil War, I knew in my mind these directors had special talent and they rose to the occasion.

I don't. Lol. Think all sets together totalled about £250 (I only have maybe 5 lego sets outside of that)
Need to get a new job first, am officially on rations until then. Lol.

But in all seriousness, isn't the Avengers game going to be stand alone(ish)? Like how the new Spiney game is nothing to do with the MCU?

I wonder if that applies to the title of the film alone? For example, could you see it in 3D and then go see it in 2D the next day? Hmmmmmm...

I would endeavour to answer that question myself with personal experience to back up any findings, however Moviepass is not an option in The Great White (And Red) North.
How exactly does this movie pass thing work?
I figured it was similar to the unlimited thing I have except movie pass isn't locked into a single cinema chain, like I'm bound by cineworld as it's their scheme. I'd still have to pay at other chains but so long as I pay the monthly fee, I can go as many times as I like to any movie. Only pay for 4d, xbox and imax upgrades (which is about a fiver a time on those - 2D and 3D standard are all 'free')

Right now:

Pay $28.95 for three months and get to see four 2D showings a month at participating theaters. The 2D showings are unrestricted so you can see the latest blockbuster openinig night. You can see a movie of your choice once with your MoviePass card. The first three months also includes, if you are new to iHeartRadio All Access, a three month trail to this musc streaming service.

You get sent a MoviePass debit card and you use the MoviePass app on Android or iOS to check into a movie. Either find the movie you want to see in the Movies tab or use the Theaters tab list view to find theaters. You need to be within 1000 yards of the theater to check in. Tap on the time you want to see it and the debit card is loaded with the funds necessary to cover the ticket. If the showtime is full or you change your mind, you can cancel the check in and do it again.

Some theaters also support etickets through MoviePass. You don't need to be near the theater to buy an eticket. Simply tap on the time, if the theater also supports reserved seats then choose your seats, and confirm the ticket. You can then pick it up at the theater.. These can not be cancelled.

You have four movies a month. And one movie per day, the day is from 12:00am to 11:59pm. So if you see a movie at 10:00pm, you can still check in for the next day if you want.

You may have to submit a photo of your ticket stub which the app will prompt you to do. You don't have to do it immediately just before your next check in.

Just got back from seeing A:IW in Dolby Cinema tonight and it appears everyone is on the same page with the poll numbers.

We had an absolutely great, great audience and the Marvel team hit it clear out of the park. Dolby Cinema delivers once again, although I will admit a few extra decibels would have been welcome. Given all the laughter and applause, it may take a few viewings to catch every line.

Went and saw Avengers: Infinity War tonight in IMAX 3D.

Absolutely wasn't prepared for what I was about to witness.

When the credits rolled, I was speechless. I literally did not know what to say.

I turned to the person next to me. Sighed and just gave him 'the look.' He nodded in agreement as he wiped away tears.

It left me without words. Shocked. Stunned. Numbed me to the core.

This one, I'll have to sit and think about where it ranks with the other films. Because while entertaining it was, there were some flaws to it.

The 3D had some really good sense of depth. Especially the scenes on Titan or in space.

Overall I think the movie did a fantastic job pulling together all the characters in a not-overwhelming number of locations into a coherent story that doesn't lose the audience. The interactions were fun, the humor worked (my personal favorite is Rabbit), and there was time to slow down and get some emotion attachment with Gamora and Scarlet Witch.

Agree with a lot of the criticisms. There were obvious problems with power scaling between characters and there are always going to be infinite (haha) plot holes dealing with multiple artifacts as powerful as the infinity stones. I just don't think there's any way around that so I don't necessarily fault the movie for it.

I think the movie delivered on almost all counts that fans expected. The one where maybe it fell short was that Thanos killed too many people at the end, so it lost some impact because they can't all be really dead (can they??).

Also, Vision was kind of useless to the point of distraction. It's like anytime someone's not holding his hand he's helpless while every single bad guy gets their turn to pry the stone from his head

#ThanosDemandsYourSilence

Even after seeing the movie, I will respect the command. I refuse to ruin this for anyone at any time.

I will say only this much - I have been on this rock for a long time, but I missed one thing I always wished I could have experienced: that feeling of dread and anticipation at the end of Empire Strikes Back, not knowing what is coming or if there is even hope for our heroes.

Tonight, I finally know. And I finally have.

I will add only this more - I’ve seen questions like “What do I need to watch to enjoy this Marvel?” The honest answer? All of them. I’m dead serious, having been on this journey for ten years, now 20 movies, they all count. They all make this mean more. Yes, you can still get something out of it by being selective, but the cocktail is sweeter... or perhaps bitter... for having tasted them all.

I cannot wait to see how Ant-Man and the Wasp fits into the puzzle. And suddenly, next February is very important.

And for now, silence.

I mean, I enjoyed the movie. But good god, let's not act like the ending will amount to anything special in the long run.

MAJOR SPOILERS which I'll hid under the spoiler tag:

[Show spoiler]No more Black Panther?

Really, after how much money its made, as well as the cultural impact it made on blockbuster films for people of color.

No more Spider-Man?

No more Guardians of the Galaxy?

Lol, come on now.

It's because of those 'phantom' deaths--as we know the important characters will be resurrected, good as new, even--that prevents the ending of this film from being genuinely breathtaking. Because in the grand scheme of things, when 'Avengers 4' hits, and those characters are alive, along with their planned sequel solo films, it'll be just another bump in the road for the universe's mightiest heroes! How rad!

Other than that, the film was pretty awesome.

Thanos really may be the greatest comic book villain of all time now. Josh Brolin may very well have bumped Heath Ledger from that spot. If nothing else, he gives him one hell of a run at it.

About Vision,
[Show spoiler]I heard that the weapon he was stabbed with was kind of a poisoned thing that was effecting him from healing or something, it was just never explained in the movie. It is in the comics.
