I think L.B means Bradley Cooper plays bad characters and that works against the film.

He didn't do anything that any other actor couldn't have done in SLP. Plus, being nominated for an Oscar means nothing.

Personal bias you have against him aside, he's a great actor. Ever since the first 'Hangover', a film I don't really love, he's made nothing but good to great movies, and has been solid in all of them. His voice is perfect for Rocket, and I'm glad they chose him.

I'm happy everyone is good with this choice. I just personally hate him. Luckily it will only be his voice. Better than him being on screen. Still in my top 5 of most anticipated movies.

Oscars being totally political and bought are defense mechanisms for people who don't like them, and I've seen little to support these claims.

Of course it's so easy for people on message boards, who will probably never be nominated or win one, to say how little they matter. That story would be totally different the day one of them had a faint opportunity to be nominated. Don't take this all personally, but I notice these types of sentiments being repeated so often, if the argument "but they were nominated/won an Oscar" comes up...but only if it supports the opposing party's argument.

As for Cooper, I think he's great. He's played douchebags, but when has he been one in real life?
I always see the Oscar in front of an actors name or movie as a mere marketing tool. If they weren't political or a popularity contest, please tell me how Crash, Slumdog Millionaire, or The Departed (just to name a few recent winners) took home best picture. There is no way those were the best films of their years.

The Departed, Slumdog, and Crash didnt have strong competion (not to mention your opinion of the winners is meaningless)
once they win the award of course theyre going to use it as a marketing tool, it would idiotic not to. but not as idiotic as suggesting the only reason for the oscars is to use it for that purpose.

Marvel hasn't officially announced it yet to the best of my knowledge, but it's pretty much a lock.

They've assembled quite a cast for this, can't wait to see how it turns out.

I'm on the complete opposite side of this. The only complaint I had with him being cast as Rocket was "There are other characters he'd be better suited to play physically".

I was personally hoping for Nick Offerman as Rocket Racoon, so I am slightly disappointed, but it's not a bad choice at all.

That's never been said in the comics. It's up to interpretation of the person using it, honestly. I never saw him with a Cockney accent when I reading the comics. I imagined him more like a Steven Buscemi sounding guy. It seems that's probably something Gunn is thinking too.

When he appeared in UMvC3, he has the accent. It was his first "live" appearance and honestly, I find it pretty irritating. Hopefully Cooper will go with his own voice.
