The book and the DVD/Blu are not distributed or manufactured by the same company, so one persons experience with a defective, unreturnable book has nothing to do with this release. The CLM producers wanted the film to flow like the book (rather than all over the place like His Name Was Jason, which intentionally did that to avoid being too similar to the book) so they got that point across by using the already established name of the book.

Geesh!
If a company like this book publisher doesn't stand by their product, regardless of any retailer's return policy, then they should be called out on it.

If you are stuck like this by an unscrupulous manufacturer, then there are ways to get them to pony up. Buy another one. Then return the first one under that order as being defective. It's kind of deceitful, but no more than them selling a faulty product. And you still pay for and only keep one copy of the book. Then the retailer will be credited by the manufacturer for the faulty copy. Unfortunately, the retailer will probably eat a little of the costs involved in the whole return process - and that's a shame as they are the innocent middleman - but if they sell faulty product that the manufacturer does not stand behind, then that's their choice to continue selling such product.

Back to topic: Can't wait for this Blu-DVD set!

They posted 3 more clips on the CLM website today. Drives me crazy that they are so short, I want to keep watching!

Notice how the boobies looks amazing when they show Part IV. I have only ever seen the film on VHS so those HD shots look great.

Yeah, but less likely. Has it happened many times before?

I pre-ordered from their website. That bonus DVD sounds good. It's $5 more than Amazon is charging, but I always try to pick up bonus discs whenever they are offered.
I don't know if this has been asked yet, but is there any info on extras besides the documentary, as long as it is? I'm hoping for one of those historic filming location tours like the ones on Halloween: 25 Years of Terror, the Halloween 2&3 special editions, and Never Sleep Again.

I'd love to see a scene tour of the first film, but the owners of the camp don't really like people in there these days. I know just to go on a tour you have to bid for tickets, which easily clear a grand. If I ever won the lottery...

Basically, the bonus disc is the extras, and the extras are all deleted scenes. They don't have the resources to produce anything else aside from the commentary. Halloween: 25 Years of Terror had Anchor Bay behind it to fund that stuff.

This looks awesome! I'm looking forward to seeing it. It would be cool if they did one for the Halloween series!.

Provided this sells nicely, it probably will. There's a guy working on a big halloween book as we speak anyway if that doesn't happen.

There are no extras. It's possible they might throw in some footage of some of the filming locations if the topic comes up. A lot of the filming locations have been covered in past F13 DVD extras and His Name Was Jason, such as the part 4 Jarvis house and whatever is left of the part 3 set.

They put tickets on sale a week or two ago for $100. I'm a couple of hours from the location so I might do it in the future.

Currently Justin Beahm is working on the Halloween tell-all book, which is supposed to be as in-depth as CLM. Hopefully we'll get a documentary in the works soon.

That's great news. I'd really like to add a Halloween documentary like Never Sleep Again or Crystal Lake Memories to the list.

I can't recall the answer to this - is the Dark Delicacies copy going to have the bonus disc?
I thought I heard it was, but I just want to make sure before I cancel my order from CLM.

EDIT: Never mind! I just read back to the pages where it is mentioned and it will. Got my answer.

I'm curious what stage that's at because he used to update regularly on Facebook how it was going and who he'd interviewed etc but there's been nothing for a while.
