Picturehouse advertised it for the longest time, putting the poster up outside when they were closed from October 2020 onwards (they might have even had the poster up from March 2020 but I don’t remember perfectly), and screening the trailer. And then they refuse to screen the film because of Prime Video. I didn’t realise I had £5 credit in my Amazon account when they cancelled my True Romance order, so I just ordered the 4K disc for £21. It won’t come up if you search The Green Knight 4K and sort by most recent, but it did when I searched Dev Patel and sorted by most recent. The German 4K release is out before the end of the year too. Another film that’s unceremoniously lost its UK cinema release for a Prime Video release in December is Wrath of Man. Thankfully there is a 4K release coming out in France and Germany, and a Blu-ray in the US, Canada and Australia. The Eyes of Tammy Faye is currently bereft of a UK release date, but a US Blu-ray comes out in November. If it’s region free, I’ll import. Remember that streaming services often seem to insist on yearlong exclusivity windows, so I don’t see it happening until at least September 2022. Picturehouse aren’t releasing Nitram until 1st July 2022, but Madman just released it to Australian cinemas. Not sure how long a window Australian distributors usually give, but if it’s out on Blu-ray in early 2022, I think I will import it. I imported a handle of other new films earlier in the year (Freaky, Love and Monsters and Monster Hunter before they came out here), and bought imports of Promising Young Woman and Psycho Goreman, but I’m unsure what other films to do it for. I still need to get News of the World 4K, which was released as a “Netflix Original” over here. Maybe The Collini Case as the German Blu-ray is English subtitled, and other significant German releases are The Mauritanian, Run, Palm Springs, Boss Level, The High Note, The Assistant and Shadow in the Cloud and Greenland 4K (released straight to Prime Video in the UK.) A Christmas Gift From Bob is getting a belated German Blu-ray release also, and Happiest Season came out in Australia. And Sony are releasing The Mitchells vs the Machines on Blu-ray in the US. These are all the cancelled cinema releases I know of https://letterboxd.com/hulksmash/lis...y-coronavirus/ Many films without UK physical releases are getting discs in other territories - The Last Black Man in San Francisco 4K is available direct from A24’s webstore. My experience of Everyman is quite positive (I saw Clash there in 2017) but the sad irony is with their pricing and number of locations aren’t really available to the “everyman”. But it does seem like more of a luxury experience than being a waste of money.

As far as I know Madman only hold the theatrical rights to the film in Australia but after Stan feel that film has played out a physical media release will probably take place. Last edited by Aunt Peg; 10-12-2021 at 11:41 PM. |

The Champion of Auschwitz (though the original Polish title translates to The Champion based on the subtitle track in the DCP), the Polish Holocaust biopic about a young boxer, that was released to some cinemas like ODEON and Picturehouse back at the start of September, will be released by Parkland on 15th November.
This is quite harrowing viewing and shows how horrifically lives were dehumanised and devalued and seen as replaceable, and the horrors of people walking to their deaths in gas chambers. That said, what is worth criticising (though I admittedly haven't done the research into the real events of the film) is the film never really addresses Jewish identity, but more of a homogenised Polish identity that the Nazis are crushing. https://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Champio...dp/B09BK982PB/ Quote:

The US release is at least out in two weeks, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was region free (French Exit and 9 Days are). But it’s always annoying when a British film doesn’t get a domestic release!

For importers who don't want to wait to see if Entertainment bother with a UK disc, The Green Knight 4K is currently $9.99 at Amazon com, though you'll probably need a US reshipper:
![]() Blu is region A locked, 4K region free. Last edited by Aclea; 11-15-2021 at 12:07 PM. |

That's something, though I'm not really a fan of steelbooks in general or the artwork on the front cover of this one in particular (though I like the inside) so I'll probably end up importing it instead.
