Welcome to the Dollhouse for me. Though I expect they'll dry out before I ever get a chance to order.

More likely to be the Saura film, no (Los golfos)?

Will no doubt preorder the Japanese title, but still curious about these.

Wonder why they’re formally reissuing an earlier title. Hope it’s not a case of FOMO and they’re just making it available for those that missed out.

I doubt it, because that’s technically Belgian. Reckon it could be Godard’s Histoire(s) du cinema…

I hope it is Pastoral To Die in the Country and Godard's Histories du cinema... would give my wallet a breather.

Just dawned upon me: this could be Catherine Breillat! Le Chat Qui Fume released some new restorations and Radiance mentioned "controversial French classics" in 2025…

Sure, but I could still hope for Almodovar films.

My guesses are:

Ogro (aka Operación Ogro) (1979)
In My Skin (2002) 4K
Oshima Collection

You think Severin would attempt to block these third party sellers from carrying IN MY SKIN (if that is one of them) like they and Vinegar Syndrome usually tend to when it comes to UK releases, or could Radiance pull through?

As usual, I'll hope for Ruiz and (prepare to) be disappointed

(for the French clue)

Les Trois Couronnes du matelot and L'Hypothese du tableau vole would be sweet and at the top of my most wanted Ruiz list, but most likely the French hint is going to be related to that French extremity hint?

------------------------------------------

Still curious about the "next month" Orge clue and whether it was indeed pointing to a possibly bushed back Koundouros' Drakos (assuming that doesn't end up being Pontecorvo's Ogro for the Spanish clue that is). Then again, if an Ogre is indeed revealed tomorrow, that would mean something fresher and more exciting for the upcoming Radiance greek entry than Koundouros' far too familiar warhorse!

Really hope not; that would be a wasted slot in my opinion.. The BU UHD release is not easy to top (and includes a CD with the excellent de Roubaix score too).

Technically a Belgian/French/German co-production, I guess most would refer to it as a Belgian film. Even if it does end up in the Radiance slate, they might opt to save it for Halloween (possibly as a two-fer with Malpertuis)?

I love both of those, and they are unquestionable masterpieces, but I have them on DVD, so I would prefer something without an official release/I haven't seen in years

Not a fan of much of what's associated with French extremity aside from Grandrieux. If we got something like Sombre, obviously that would be incredible

Haha, yes. I doubt Radiance would delve deeper that that into Ruiz's filmography for the time being.

Not a fan of so-called French extremity films myself at all (but have only watched the more popular heavy hitters). Not familiar with Grandrieux's work, I'll keep that one in mind. Thanks for the recommendation.

Sombre, La Vie nouvelle (people overuse "Lynchian," but this is extremely Lynchian), and Un lac from him are must-sees

Malgré la nuit and his documentary about Masao Adachi are also well worth watching

That's in the US, though. There's a rumor Radiance might release it in the UK. (And if I ever bought the film, I'd likely get the Radiance).

I assumed that would be referring to In My Skin (and maybe Themroc), but you never know...

I did wonder if they could get one of his films that are with Pathé (e.g. Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!, Live Flesh, Volver), as they seemed to possibly have a deal with Pathé after acquiring Tchao pantin...but still nothing yet.

The 'ogre' teaser was almost definitely for The Ogre of Athens...

I think someone said the Oshima set probably won't be 'til the end of the year, but I'll snap it up whenever it arrives.

Not personally that fussed for In My Skin, and might be the first Radiance I outright skip (unless my curiosity gets the better of me).

In My Skin is great, and the just released Severin disc is region free and has a great extra new interview with the director that gives you more context than you probably wanted to know, so I've no interest in another version.

Spain is almost certainly Saura's The Delinquents and I also agree that France is likely to be In My Skin.

Re: 'ogre', a Radiance rep said on the Discord that "[they] don't usually like wading into speculation (as it somewhat spoils the fun!) but [they] will say behind-the-scenes tinkering mean last week's tease was a bit outdated". So my guess is that The Ogre of Athens has been delayed a month rather than the clue applying to whatever will be announced this morning. Or so I hope!

Re: the clues that are thought might allude to Histoire(s) du cinema, Fran has said that "[he's] almost certainly going to push the release that featured in the S&S list to next year as it’s become a bigger beast and he really want[s] to see how big it can become." So, if it is that, I'm guessing it won't be until the end of the year at best.

Ruiz was "top of [Radiance's] wish list" as of 2022, so presumably the wait is for new restorations.

Wow, very nice that 3 of 4 gives the -10% discount now! I can safely skip In My Skin, in for the others. Was not expecting another World Noir set so soon.
