you don't have to hurry one day you'll be there and saying how did my little girl grow up so fast? it seems the older you get the faster time goes by.

OK here is the formula

C*9/5= X, X+32 = F

so 32 celcius is 32*9/5 =57.6, 57.6+32 = 89.6

ive been reading about dyno speakers and all there drivers are listed in metric im like so what size are they ? like the 340s you recommend i demo, how big are the woofers in inches ? im guessing somewhere from 6 to 8

you take cm and add a 0 at the end, that will give you mm, then divide that number by 25.4, and you get inches.

so if the woofer is 17 cm, thats the same as saying 170 mm, 170/25.4 = 6.7"

Speaking of PSB's, have you heard the Synchro's before? The Synchro 1's are supposed to be excellent speakers and about half the cost of the S8's now.

sweet! the 340s look really nice btw and dynos tweeters remind me of looking at a fish eye pretty cool looking like there watching you enjoy the music .

i know some people were comparing the Sync 2 to the X32s on avs, saying they were very similar with the 2s have a little better bass, I think they both went with focus 220s

no the ones i heard were the imagine line if i remember correctly they sounded really nice though, id like to hear the synchros

i heard the imagine Ts, i thought they lacked bass. could have been the setup and all, but they just didnt do much dynamically. I thought they were a little dark sounding also, but they had good detail.

here is the back and forth about the sync 2s and x32s. the guy bought the 220 mkii

Have auditioned: B&W CM9, CM8, PSB Imagine T, Dali Mentor 6, Totem Hawk, Totem Arro, Totem Staff, PSB Synchrony Two and Dynaudio X32.

Of these, it's down to PSB Synchrony Two, Dyn X32 and Totem Hawk. They are all slightly different flavors and i am trying to figure out which set will last me the longest. I am leaning X32 or PSB...though choice.

The PSB Synchrony Twos excelled at the bass control and I liked their dynamic punch, but for the highs and mids they were not as refined and smooth as the Excites, simply not as well rounded as the Excites. Test them with some vocals and violins and you will admire how the inexpensive Excite speakers are so well rounded and you will probably rate them higher than the PSBs. I know this will offend many B&W owners but nearly all B&W speakers were consistently the poorest performing speakers in their official expensive showrooms and other dealers' showrooms. The Dali Mentor 6s were pretty close to the Dynaudio in performance but were not as full bodied as the X32s and lacking something here and there. With price / performance ratio consideration and the overall sound quality, Dynaudio Excite X32s simply crushed the Dali and this is a no brainer to me.

Thank you! Your observations are close to mine..I do like the bottom octaves and bass control of the PSBs, but as you say, the X32 seem to have a nicer mid-higher range. May come down to form factor, the Dyns fit our house much better and are (in my opinion) nicer looking.

id really like to stay around 5k , but my next set id like to keep for many years , my room is 12 x 25 and i sit 15 ft from my front R/L do you think the 260s would be enough for a room my size ?

15ft from the speakers, I would go for the 340's then if you don't want to think about switching them out for a long time.
