I know that no place is perfect, but I want someplace that suits me better than here, and I'd like a house for my dogs to play in the backyard. California's way too expensive, so I want to find a place to move to soon.

I've considered Oregon, Arizona and Texas mostly. I have family in Arizona (in fact, a cousin just moved there this week), so I'm leaning towards there. Texas has Austin, though, and that seems like a great place for a movie lover (it's gotten pretty expensive, though). I like that Oregon has no sales tax. Heh

Lots for me to keep thinking about...
Just a word of warning.
Texas is just as expensive as CA
When I was in the military, they told us that the three most expensive states (continental) were NY, TX and CA.

I didn't think Disney titles were eligible for Disc to Digital. That's what my roomie said, anyway. And after doing some digging a few weeks ago, both of my Walmart locations have "non-functional" D2D machines.

EDIT: Just checked out the D2D site. Disney titles ARE NOT eligible. But thanks for the idea.

Thanks. Yeah, Austin is definitely expensive, but San Antonio seems more affordable, and not a bad place to live. But both places have had floods. I would not really want to live someplace that has floods or possible tornados.

Seems like the worst natural disasters in Arizona would be heavy rain/thunder storms. But no earthquakes, no tornados, no hurricanes, no floods. It just gets really hot in the summer. With a strong A/C, that could be tolerated. I could cover my roof with solar panels and save a lot on energy too.

You can outright buy solar panels and a whole set-up and completely disconnect from the power company. A small house set-up runs around $5,000

Maybe work on talking yourself into a state by listing all of the pros of the state being considered over California.

It was $18 Buy it Now, which is considerably less than some folks ask for in the DMR trading thread on this site. I guess I'll see if this paid off. If not, I'll just resell the set.
The code was valid! Now I'm going to sell off the blu-ray set to a co-worker.

How did things go for him? I hope all worked well. I think it's wonderful you are standing by your friend and are concerned not only for his current well being, but future as well. He sounds like he's blessed with good friends. While he's recovering, you hang in there too. A support network is super important.

It snowed here at The Mine for several hours last night.

Was rocking out to some Iced Earth (just now getting into this band, f**king loving them) when my iTunes decided to switch over to Imagine Dragons (yes, I have guilty pleasures so what). Ended up keeping it there and listening to like 5 Imagine Dragons songs before switching back to Iced Earth.

First and foremost a heavy metal fan and ID is the only non rock/metal band I have in my library. Something about them I've always liked. Must've been my iTunes trying to get me back into them. Haven't listened to them in a very long time.

Just thinking about my failed attempt to have a career in pharmacy, the fact that I started going to the gym 15 weeks ago and that I start classes again on January 18. My life sure is going to be quite different in a few years if I can get that LMFT I have my eye on.

The mine I'm at is now officially a production Diamond Mine. We're out of construction phase as of yesterday.

They put on a big opening here with lots of dignitaries including two bigwigs from the company that have to take seperate planes from each other in case one of them were to crash.

I haven't touched my cellphone all day. It's kinda weird to suddenly break the habit of immediate texting and checking emails. I've got much more done lately not being phone-centric tho. I was thinking earlier how some stuff that should be of a concern aren't anymore. I'm super content.

I wouldn't be able to live like that - I use my phone for music, a pedometer and to keep myself from going crazy during breaks at work. Not to mention the occasional text or call. Time to hit the sack though, only got about 5 hours of sleep last night. Been told melatonin is good for weightlifters like myself, guess I'll see.

I was on it around the clock, texting mostly, and since the person I was texting with like that is no longer in my life...putting off other texts and emails and what not is fine. It's kinda refreshing to just be looking at one screen instead of trying to juggle anymore. I didn't realize how much time I lost doing all that until I stopped. I've got so much more done, faster, and earlier by not be shackled to a phone. My music is on my computer (I use Apple Music so it's technically on every device - including my TV) so I'm good.

G'night.
