how loud do you like to listen? do you listen as loud as andrew? the 260s might work for you, because the bass is as deep sounding as it is, it can help to give you that sense of deep bass from 15 feet away, but the 340s will have more output.

I would audition both, and then make sure that you talk to the dealer to make sure if you start by taking the 260s home, that you can return them for the 340s if you feel you need a little more.

my studio 60s fill the room pretty good but ive noticed if i step up about 5 feet the sound much fuller, if i turn them up it gets much fuller were i sit, but then i annoy the wife up stairs, the s8s just filled the room with ease and that room was 2 or 3 times bigger than mine.

S8's are going for $5k on Audiogon, they're great speakers for $5k. $9600 I'm no so sure, I've never actually heard the S8's before. If some pop up in your area I'd serious consider them.

you might be sitting near a null spot for the bass at your current spot. or on the edge of one.

yeah, if Im home alone, I blast the songs, I had a concert here one night. I have had my Integra up to 0.0 dbs before and the setup basically was so loud I wanted to turn it down or leave the room, never had an issue with them running out of power or bottoming out or distorting.

normally watching a movie Im at -14dbs, so that would be what like 71 dbs? or 61? however its loud, and then when action happens, it pushes up to like 92-96 dbs with all speakers active according to my spl meter.

Im not sure where the volume knob is at on music since the IA doesnt have a volume readout. However it starts at the 7 oclock position and i turn it to about 9-10 o clock, when I was home alone at night a few weeks ago, i turned it up to 12 oclock, and it was really loud, lets put it this way, it was loud enough if someone broke in they could have killed me and I would have never heard them. Movies is -17 to -14, but I have had it up to -10 on a few occasions.

Steve's dealer has a pair for $4750, maybe Steve could get him down in price further.

probably can just make an offer on there for $4500 or so and get them. he usually wants to get rid of trade-ins quickly so he would probably accept any reasonable offer. but he would have to pay shipping probably.

if you are lazy you don't need the formula just get search for a converter on the net

89.6 is hot for us bro, plus when the humidity hits it does fell like 100.

Yesterday it was 96.8 outside without the humidity, well over 100 with the humidity. I'd say that's pretty hot no matter where you live.

I'd love to see what Sandman and Steve think of the days we get that are -35 with the windchill. Now that would be a sight to see!

When I fist started in surveying I had to work outside all winter long, I really don't miss those days. The coldest day I can remember working outside all day was -42, that sucked sooooooo bad. That is probably my worst winter memory. The site we were on that day required steel toe boots, it felt like my toes were going to fall off, after awhile I just couldn't feel them anymore.

Now I'll go to the other extreme, when I was in university I worked in a pre-cast concrete plant making catch basins and other sewage and drainage pipes. They'd keep all the doors and windows closed so the concrete would cure faster, mass amounts of concrete gives off a lot of heat. On really hot days in the summer it wasn't uncommon to lose 5-6lbs sweating in that place. Then when the truck would come to fill the silo with the concrete powder it would sometimes overflow the silo, making a huge dust cloud in the plant. You'd get covered in it. It would mix with the sweat in your hair and by the end of the day your hair would be hard.

Those were the hottest temps I've had to endure, it was like working inside a sauna for 10hrs. Although I'd take that over working outside on the really cold days.
